Please welcome Marley to RAGOM! Marley is a gorgeous purebred Golden that is believed to be 8 months old. He weighs in at about 55 lbs currently and should end up in the 70-lb range when he is fully grown. He is a medium blond and just adorable with pearly-white teeth, a jet-black nose, and black eyeliner that women pay a fortune for. :)
Marley was a stray and when his time was up at the shelter, they did the fake hand test in his food, which he promptly failed by biting the fake hand. Thankfully, RAGOM saw the potential in this guy and accepted him into foster care. He has been in our home for about 2 weeks and we have not seen an aggressive bone in his body, but we can say that he does have a bit of puppy mouthiness, which we are working on and is diminishing by the day.
Look for more information about what Marley needs in his forever home in the next few days. This little guy is a sweetie through and through and whoever adopts him will be very lucky!

It is with great pleasure that I can tell you Marley has been adopted! He will now be known as Charlie.
As you can see from this picture, it is love all around for this family and this guy! As they drove off, he was hunkered down in the backseat with his forever mom, acting like this is where he was meant to be. :)
Congrats to the S family and congrats to Charlie! This is what rescue is all about.....you are the perfect family for Charlie and I thank you for loving him as much as we do. :)
While in foster care, Marley has earned a couple of different nicknames: "Sweetness" (90% of the time) and "The Mouth" (10% of the time). :) Last weeeknd, Marley met a family that FM believed was perfect for him and in typical Marley fashion, he showed both Marleys to this family. :) Today, I heard from them that they were smitten with him and would love to make him a part of their family. Marley will have a mom and dad that come home for an extended lunch hour, sisters (one is a vet), a fenced-in yard, and he has a JOB! He will be responsible for keeping the yard/garden free of pesky squirrels and rabbits.... I believe that he will excel at this job and take it very seriously. :) Marley's new family understands the need for consistency in working with his mouthiness and they will shower him with the love and attention he deserves. We couldn't be happier for this amazing guy and his new forever family... Congrats, Marley and the S family!

Marley had a GREAT weekend! He spent Friday and Saturday nights with another foster in the Des Moines area. Temporary FM and FD have 2 big Goldens that like to play, a dog-savvy cat, and a teenaged 2-legger that had FRIENDS OVER. He is home and just plain pooped (as the picture shows). FM checked him to make sure he was breathing, he is so pooped out! I'll be putting some more information on the website about Marley and what we will be looking for in his forever home in the next day or so, but thought you'd enjoy seeing this picture of him recovering from his FUN weekend.
