Welcome to RAGOM, Whiskey!! This sweet 10-year-old boy is such a cutie. He appears to be a mix of Golden and something that gave him the cutest white spots on his legs. Now, I know that his face looks gray, but I am wondering how much of that could be his white coloring. Just a thought....

Whiskey was surrendered because his human had serious health issues and could not care for him anymore.

This handsome boy, without a doubt, has the Golden personality. He will follow me around the house and yard, gives wonderful kisses, likes to know where I am, sleeps on the floor next to my bed, leans in for pets, and if I stop petting him, he will give me the nudge for more.

He is housebroken and respects baby gates, but does not appear to be interested in a crate/kennel. He is not destructive at all, so I am not concerned about that. Whiskey currently weighs 55 lbs. His vet would like him to lose about 10 lbs, so we are working on that.

Whiskey does have some arthritis in his back hips and is currently taking medication daily for that. It does not seem to slow him down very much. He will still run to the fence line and bark at rabbits, other dogs, and new people. He will follow my direction and stop when I distract him from barking.

Whiskey was reported to not like another dog that is “in your face.” I was told that he will give another dog warning to give him space with a growl. My resident dog is more interested in humans and will pretty much ignore other dogs as long as they ignore him. Whiskey and his foster brother Jack get along very well. They met each other without incident and have gotten along just fine. I would say when Whiskey finds a forever home and if there will be another canine brother or sister, it will have to be one that will respect Whiskey’s need for personal space. I would imagine with the arthritis, he does not want to romp and play like a young puppy would.

Well, I don’t know what other wonderful things to say about this boy. He is so sweet and wonderful.

He is now living with two more much smaller pups that are staying with us for a little while because this foster mom won’t say no to friends who need help with their own furbutts. Anyway, you can see by the picture, he has accepted them into the family with zero problems. As long as Whiskey gets in his fair share of love, he is a happy, rolling in the grass, free love for all dog.

This sweet guy is one of the easiest fosters I have ever had.

Please come meet us at Goldzilla. We are excited to attend for the first time on Sunday, September 14th, at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton. If you would like to research more info, please visit goldzilla.ragom.org.

See ya soon!

So, new things to report on about the Whiskey boy! He has met several dogs in the past couple of weeks and he has been wonderful as usual.

He has met a couple of the neighborhood canines and he actually seems a bit smitten with one little red head. He was on his belly attempting to engage in a little bit of play, which I never would have expected from this boy. He has even attempted to engage his foster brother in a bit of play, too. It has been very adorable to watch him reach his paw out and give a little nudge to another dog.

Whiskey is still doing really well. He is one of the biggest lovers for a foster I have seen. He just cannot get enough love from his humans. He is bouncy and playful. He also likes to get into the mix and fetch the tennis ball when everyone is playing. He still loves mealtimes and getting brushed is a special sort of heaven for him. LOL.

Whiskey sends you all sweet kisses and wishes he could meet every one of you!!

Wanted: My very own human(s). Promise to love you forever...

Hello, everyone!! I am very happy to say that Whiskey did a wonderful job at the meet-and-greet in Coon Rapids last weekend (see pics). We did not get to the Edina event because this foster mom had some allergy problems Sunday morning. Whiskey was more than game to go, but it just did not work out.

Have to take a break from meeting all the wonderful humans!

Fundraising for RAGOM. Thanks for all the donations!!

So, Whiskey also met another new pup. Her name is Stella and she is a very energetic, bouncy, happy girl who wants to play with every dog she meets. The meeting went very well. There were no issues as Stella was able to read Whiskey's signal that he was not interested in play. He did not growl or bark. He gave her a little “huff.” It looked like he was taking a deep breath to give her a bark, but just huffed air out of his mouth. It was interesting and there were no issues at all.

Whiskey and my resident dog still get along very well. Jack will even curl up next to whiskey, back to back, and take a snooze. It is very cute to see.

This is a VERY happy boy!! He keeps me on my toes and seems to love everyone he meets.

Whiskey is still wondering when he is going to meet his forever human(s).

Well, Mr. Whiskey has had a wonderful week. He has fit into our home and knows the schedule and is a very happy boy.

When I come home from work, he will bounce on his two front feet because he is so excited to see me. It is so fun to see him after a long day at work; you just can’t beat that kind of greeting!

Whiskey and my resident dog get along great; they both like to run to the fence when my neighbor is out in her yard. They must know what is going on at all times! Very busy boys.

Whiskey still likes to sleep on the floor beside my bed at night. He loves to be petted, brushed, talked to, and wants to see his human all the time. He will see me off to work every morning to the side door, and then he watches me leave through the back sliding glass doors. The look on his face is priceless, kind of like saying, “Do you really have to leave, foster mom?” He is a very loving boy who is hoping for his very own forever home and forever humans.

"Ummm, foster mom, do you really need to vacuum?"
