Emma is now 7 months old, back in RAGOM's care and still beautiful! She loves every dog she's ever met and LOVES playing with toys. While Emma is fairly petite at 53 pounds, she can hold her own when playing tug with the big boys. She is completely potty trained (paws at the door when she wants to go out), respects baby gates, and has no anxieties. She doesn't chew anything inappropriate, but does like to shred Kleenex when she gets a piece. Emma attended obedience training and knows how to shake, sit, stay/wait, lie down, drop, and can high-five too!
She absolutely loves children of all ages, is gentle with them, and gives lots of kisses. If she is going to live with children, I'd recommend going to a home with older children because she needs to learn some manners and jumps on people. We are working on a few things with Emma, including jumping on people, counter surfing, and walking on a Gentle Leader. As a young dog, she has puppy energy and needs a lot of exercise. A tired puppy is a well-behaved puppy! Emma is a smart cookie, motivated by both treats and praise and really wants to please, so I think with these, she will be corrected relatively easy with consistent training.
She was surrendered by a wonderful family and loved! Emma was surrendered because they took a rawhide away from Emma and she bit them. Emma is focused on food, and I've been hand-feeding her for part of her meal, have her eat next to me for another part, and then have her eat out of her bowl with me sitting right next to her. I haven't had any issues. We've been working with toys too, and initially she wouldn't let me have her toys, and now she brings her ball to me and squeaks it at me if I don't throw it! I haven't had any issues with her guarding her toys since she has been with me. She does have a loud growl when she plays, but she isn't being aggressive....she's just a big talker! My kids are old enough (9 and 12) to know not to take toys or food away from her, and I trust Emma with them.
She is a really sweet, affectionate, playful, and happy puppy that needs to work on her manners. Check out her photos including the high five!
