-) woof!   Hi Sadie - We hope to be able to meet you this weekend at the Meet-Up in Coon Rapids. You look like such a happy pup! We are just starting our application process. I sure hope we get to meet each other! :-) woof! Sarah C.

In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Entered Foster Care Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
12/7/2013  required yes   not required  ok
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Sadie is a 5 year old German Shepard Golden Retriever cross and she has the brains to prove it.  She is very smart.

Sadie had a rough life until the TLC shelter in North Dakota took her in almost a year ago.  She had spent the first four years of her life outside with rare human and no canine contact.

Her foster at TLC brought this sweet beauty out of her shell, but because their community was so small they could not place her in a forever home.  They called RAGOM for help.

I have been fostering Sadie for a week now and can say that she is a really good dog who needs to find that perfect forever home.

She needs a family that will give her strong leadership.

She lived with 2 children, a cat and 2 dogs.  Now she is living with 2 dogs.

She will need a family dedicated to continuing her training and who will help her work on her introductions to new dogs.  She is fine with other dogs once you get past the introduction properly.

I consider her a velcro dog.  She is next to me wherever I go and if I stand still she will lay down on my feet.  Not next to them, on them.  It is very cute.  She also loves to sit on the back of the couch behind me so I can use her as a head rest.

Welcome Sadie to RAGOM where you will find the family who will love you and care for the rest of your life.

Sadie soaking up belly rubs at the RAGOM meet and greet.Sadie did a great job at the meet and greet today.  Lots of dogs and lots of commotion and she settled right in.  She barked a few times, but so much better than last time.  She is so smart, that with just a little bit of work she will end up being practically perfect in every way.

Hey there, RAGOM fans. This update is all about finding the right match for Sadie. She is honestly the most loving and sweet girl with her people. She will make the right family very happy. Here are a list of things that will help make the perfect match:

  • A home with a fenced-in yard so you can let her outside to play.
  • Another dog in the house that will tolerate being bossed around.
  • Or a home with no other dog would be fine too.
  • A family that will work with a trainer to help Sadie be less aroused when meeting new dogs.
  • A family who has some dog experience to watch body language when around other dogs. Once she knows the other dog, they can be as obnoxious as they want, but she does not like energetic dogs when she first meets them.
  • She loves children, and all people.
  • She just needs a little daily exercise.
  • She is itchy and I am trying new food. Her adopter will need to find the right food and stick with it.

Sadie is a wonderful dog and will make someone very happy. If you love German Shepherd Dogs or know someone who does. She has a nice combination of GSD and Golden personality traits.

Sadie continues to do very well.  She is getting along fine as one of the peas in the pack.  She likes to be first out the door and first in the door, and basically lets the 2 foster brothers know she is in charge.   Everyone seems to be fine with the new leader of the pack.

Sadie needs to learn how to walk on a loose leash and she needs help navigating new dog introductions.  In her last foster home-  she had many fosters come in and out and she did fine with them.  She just needs a family that will focus and continue her training and set her up for success. She is a very sweet dog who just wants someone to love her, get her some exercise, cuddle with her, and show her what it means to be in a loving, safe FOREVER home.Sadie has an unorthodoxed reclining position.
