Please welcome Jackson (Jack 13-292) to RAGOM. Jack is a big love sponge and is part of a bonded pair with Jersey 13-293 . Jack was surrendered due to a divorce. His owner is in an apartment and could not keep either dog.

I have had Jack for about 3 weeks and am completely in love with this "gentle giant." He is a purebred 7-year-old Golden Retriever. Jack loves to snuggle, go for walks, play fetch with his ball, and be with his people. He has no resource guarding or aggression issues. He has the run of the house and has no anxiety (storm or separation). He is potty trained and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, shake, and has awesome recall.

Jack's forever home will understand how much he loves his Jersey girl and would like to stay with her. He has been with Jersey (9) since he was a puppy. Jack does extremely well with children, but due to his size, he would be best in a home with kids older than 10. Jack may knock the smaller kids down trying to give Golden kisses. Jack also loves to be a part of the family and thinks he is a lap dog. He is an inside dog and would need to be treated as a family member. Jack also needs a family committed to daily exercise and a high quality diet. Jack does not need a physical fence, gets along beautifully with other dogs, seems to ignore cats, does not counter surf, but is food motivated. :-))

Jack was at the vet last week and has been brought up-to-date on all of his shots and given heartworm prevention medication. Of course, the vet fell instantly under his spell and was complexly in love with this "handsome guy." Jack had a bacterial infection in both ears which I am treating with a topical cream. He is being scheduled for his neuter surgery soon. Jack has an underactive thyroid and will need medication for the remainder of his life to keep his thyroid stable.

Jack and Jersey are the perfect houseguests. They are so well-behaved and such a loved addition to our home. If you have room for two beautiful, loving companions, these are your dogs.

Jack and Jersey found their forever home this past weekend. The S. family of Buffalo adopted Jack and Jersey Saturday night. My heart still hurts, but I am so happy for them!!! They could NOT have found a better match or family. They will live the Golden Life. Jack & Jersey were very excited, as were their new family (see photo below). Thank you to everyone at RAGOM for making this possible, and to Sandra Lynn who graciously sponsored Jack and Jersey.

I'm beyond confident that the S's were meant to be their forever home. I asked if they would adopt me, but for some reason, they didn't seem too excited. :-))) Congratulations to my foster bears. I will never forget you, and you will always have a piece of my heart.

Hey, all you Jack fans out there! This is foster sister. You probably heard that Jack and Jersey got adopted. I wanted to say a few things about Jacksy. He was a sweet dog. Loyal, loving, and playful. I am so glad they found their furr-ever home. He deserves it. I will miss him forever. I'll never forget him. You have been a grrreat foster dog.

Well, that's all for now. Congratulations, Jack!!

Foster sister,
Taylor

Hello and happy new year!

Jacksy thoroughly enjoyed Christmas. He was very eager to open his gifts (a new ball and a bone). He was so excited to play with his new ball (and everyone else's toys too). He asked me if he could help prepare Christmas dinner, but I believe he had ulterior motives. ;-) Jack is looking good, and although we have not been to the vet for a weigh-in, I would guess he is somewhere around 80 lbs now. Everyone comments on how much weight he has lost. He had his first bath, right before Christmas (Jersey insisted) and he wasn't thrilled, but was a very good boy. I did not think he could get any more handsome, but he did. He, of course, knows it. :-)

Jacksy loves to go to the park and run around like a crazy dog. He loves to play fetch and hide his ball in the snow and then whines at me when he can't find it. Jacksy is such a loving, sweet dog. He loves to be with his people and will follow me everywhere. I am in awe of how smart he is and how well he listens. He loves to play, be loved and walked. Jacksy loves to talk to me and tell me about his day when I arrive home. He lets me know when the others are drinking out of the toilet again!

Jacksy learned that a very nice and generous woman named Sandra Lynn has sponsored him and his Jersey girl . Needless to say, he was thrilled and thankful! Jacksy and Jersey are two of the easiest Goldens I have ever met. He is still waiting patiently for his forever home. He knows that once they meet him and Jersey, they will fall in love. There is nothing better than waking up to a big, comfy love sponge snuggling you. Both Jack and Jersey have their noise makers and hats. They are ready to ring in the new year! Please remember that both Jack and Jersey are indoor dogs. They have free roam. Enclosing Jack in any kind of space, especially without Jersey, will cause anxiety for him.

Thank you again to Sandra Lynn for sponsoring our foster love sponge. People like Sandra Lynn make it possible for RAGOM to rescue these gorgeous dogs~~ Also, thank you to Brittany for the mitten. :-))

Love,

Jack

Thanksgiving was a success and Jacksy worked very hard for Turkey (see below). Jack continues to make us all laugh. He is such a cuddle bug and loves attention. Jack was at the RAGOM event at Petco in Burnsville last Saturday. Needless to say, he received a lot of attention and soaked it all in. He met lots of new RAGOM friends and was able to explore all of the new smells. He was such a good boy, he even convinced me to buy him some cookies when we were done. Oh, and Jack got to meet SANTA! He has been on his best behavior ever since.... Hmmmmm. :-)

Jack is continuing to lose weight. He loves to be outside in the snow, but because of the frigid temperatures, his paws get cold fast! I'm pretty certain that he is hoping for a plane ticket to Hawaii in his Christmas stocking this year.

Jack is also hoping that a nice and loving family will want to adopt him and his Jersey girl (13-293). Jack has a lot of love to give. He is so much fun, and incredibly handsome.

Well, that's all for now. Jack would like to remind everyone to stay warm and make sure your pets are not left outside too long in this cold weather.

Our adorable love sponge is losing weight consistently and his ears seem to be much better! I am learning more and more about this crazy guy every day. Jacks seems to LOVE snow. He could not wait to run outside and roll around in it. :-) We have also learned that he likes to PLAY. He will chase my kids around in the house, talking to them and wagging his tail (in circles).

Jacksy was very excited that he and his Jersey girl had an interested family. Unfortunately, it did not work out, but..... Jack and Jersey (13-293) are still very hopeful that their forever home will find them soon.

Jacksy is looking VERY forward to Thanksgiving (especially the turkey). Jack's forever home does not need a fence, but he would need boundary training if not attended, and/or be on a leash. Jack loves children, but because of his size, kids need to be 10 and older. Jack is very well trained and listens extremely well. He is an inside dog and loves to be snuggled and part of the family. Jack will also need regular exercise, a high-quality diet and thyroid medication (for the remainder of his life).

They say it is easier to have two dogs instead of one....I have four, so of course I agree. :-) Jack and Jersey are the perfect Goldens and are very bonded. They take care of each other and keep each other company. If you have room in your heart for two beautiful, well-behaved, loyal Goldens, then this is your pair.
