I am excited to introduce Pennie to you! Pennie is a PB 8 yr old female golden with lots of love to share. She has seen the vet and is a healthy girl at 59#. When she was 1 year old she had surgery because of hip dysplasia. She recovered beautifully. Although, arthritis is settling in a bit as she ages. She loves to chase tennis balls and squirrels. In fact, she has caught squirrels.

Pennie was surrendered because she had broken through her invisible fence and went after an older gentleman walking by her home. The gentleman was new to her neighborhood & she didn’t recognize him. She just grabbed his shorts and there was not a bite of any kind. The surrendering owner had her since a pup and loved her very much. She felt that she could not keep her safe any longer with just an invisible fence. Pennie has always been very protective of her home and would bark and "try to be scary." As soon as she was told it was okay, she would welcome them with a wagging tail, looking for the requisite Golden pets.

Pennie has been with us three days and she has been the perfect house guest. She thrives on attention! She has been on a road trip to Eau Claire & did great in the car. She is very adaptable. She loves the grandparents, especially because they loved her up. Pennie nudges, paws, and cuddles in for human touch. She loves belly rubs. See her smile…

Pennie has no resource guarding issues that I know of. I feed all three dogs in separate corners of the kitchen. She is the last to get her bowl. She walks with me to the other spots until we reach her spot, looks at me, and when I say “ok” she eats. She has a very gentle mouth to take treats. She has given our resident Golden a warning when he tried to drink again after she waited for him to finish. Not aggressive – just a warning that it was her turn now. He understood. Below he is trying to get her to play.

Pennie’s needs: She definitely needs a fenced in yard to keep her contained and safe. She is very loving, house trained, and has free roam of the house. In her previous home she was left home 8 hours/day, but expect that when you get home she will be at your side the rest of the night.

Penney passed this last Monday. She was twelve years old and had been Marj's beloved companion for four years. Penney traveled with her to Canada each summer to visit family. She was loved by many and will be missed. Marj is brokenhearted. Penney had arthritis and was getting weaker in the back end. Her pain was increasing and she stopped eating and drinking in her last couple days. On Monday Marj took her to the vet and sadly had to say goodbye and end her pain.

Marj is very appreciative of all the time she had with Penney. They were such a good pair and she will carry fond memories in her heart always of Penney. Thanks to the Kings who were Penney's fosters and all their effort to make this match. And thanks to RAGOM for allowing Penney and Marj to find each other.

Penney has had an amazing week! She quickly settled into our home and routines. Penney loves to be outside and helps our resident dogs keep all of the squirrels and rabbits out of our yard. She is so easy to have around. She is gentle and gives lots of “kisses” in return for attention. She has learned that everyone reads before bedtime and if she snuggles in next to you she’ll get continuous attention as we read. Smart Girl!

Penney attended Goldzilla and met many wonderful people!  One very special lady caught her attention. She spent much of her day nudging her to be petted. It felt right for Penney & the family. Penney was adopted this past weekend by the K family.
