It is with a heavy heart that we write this first and final update on our foster dog, Jasper, who came into RAGOM’s care less than two weeks ago. Jasper came into RAGOM at 10 months old and was surrendered by a family who had adopted him from a shelter and quickly realized they weren’t prepared for an energetic puppy like Jasper. He arrived at our home just over a week ago and spent 7 wonderful days with us. He enjoyed giving us puppy kisses, loved ear rubs, and was full of energy.

Jasper’s favorite thing to do was chase tennis balls and bat them around the living room as though he was playing soccer! He really enjoyed going on walks and playing with our resident dog as well. Jasper was a complete love bug to us and nothing short of a sweetheart. Sadly, Jasper quickly became aggressive without warning, when meeting others and the difficult decision was made to have him leave our house since we have two young children. Jasper’s anxiety level escalated and he became more aggressive after leaving our home.

After being evaluated, the heartbreaking decision was made that Jasper was not safe to adopt out to the public. Jasper’s fears and anxieties ended when he was helped to cross the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, May 12th. We know he now has unlimited time with his tennis balls, is playing and running free in the sunshine and most importantly, Jasper is at peace. Jasper, in just 7 short days you touched our hearts and we will miss you very much. Until we meet again, Jasper!
