Hi,

My husband and I adopted Copper in September 2012.  She was a beautiful girl! We were blessed to have her for 5 years. She died unexpectantly on January 3. She died of insulinoma. We did not know she had the disease. She was a sweet girl and we miss her immensely.

Thank you RAGOM! She was an angel!

Hello!

I would like to share a very belated update on Copper (12-309). We adopted this beautiful girl in September 2012. She has been such an amazing blessing for our family!

Copper is a true outdoor girl! Her mild anxiety vanishes when she is running through tall grass, chasing a scent in nature, or sitting atop a snow pile with her favorite tennis ball. She has a sweet temperament and she loves attention from all ages!

We have uncovered a long list of allergens and have made appropriate changes to diet. Copper came to us with a history of seizures. She has had only one seizure since we have had her. (Three years!) The seizure occurred when there was a change in my work schedule, so it was determined that it could have been stress induced. Since getting on top of Copper's allergies and boosting her immune system, her overall health has improved significantly. She is also playing more, chewing on bones and becoming more assertive. (That is great news for this previously very timid girl!) She does not enjoy playing with toys but we continue to offer her plenty of options, just in case.

She is friendly with other dogs and we think Copper would enjoy another RAGOM companion in the future. For now, she is content with our cat's occasional attention and, of course, all human interaction. She is good with children but seems to really enjoy middle school aged kids. We have struggled to pass Obedience School due to her anxiety but we will continue to seek an ideal opportunity. She would be a joyous and loving therapy dog! She enjoys going to the dog park but she spends most of her time checking out the landscape. She will occasionally interact with some of the dogs but she mostly seeks attention from dog owners. She is a funny girl!

Big thanks to RAGOM for this treasure! Copper is showered with love daily!

Our lovely Copper girl has found a fur-ever home today. This family is wonderful and Copper will most certainly help them heal faster from the loss of their lovely golden earlier this year at 12 years old from cancer. Copper was very happy to meet/greet them and will get top notch love and care. She will have an opportunity to go to work with mom and very minimal time home alone. She will have a beautiful home and a great big back yard to play in and all the attention she deserves. Copper you were a wonderful Ragom foster girl.

Welcome please Miss Copper girl.  She is an absolutely lovely, petite golden girl and a true ‘golden’ personality to go with.  Copper did come from a local shelter originally and has been with the same owner until recently and she was an only pet.  Severe child allergies forced the family to make a difficult but necessary decision to re-home Copper.  She has a dark golden-reddish coat with some white on her chest and some small white markings on her feet.  Copper is spayed and is now UTD, microchipped and on HW /frontline preventative.  Copper has seasonal allergies and was already on some prednisone when she arrived.  She looks great.  She was very oily/dirty and since her groom, sparkles in the sun and smells wonderful.  The groomer said she was hesitant to get in the tub (as guessing never been in one?) but handled everything else fine.  Not keen on getting her face dried by the blower.  This is a very gentle girl.  She really enjoys a fenced in back yard, where prior, she was on a tie out.  Loves to play fetch and have her tennis balls around to play with.  She has a gentle golden mouth and takes treats nicely.  She came with very poor food which when put on a grain free A+ food, I think will do much better with her allergy/oily coat.  She has a good appetite.

Copper met our two resident dogs, Maggie who is an 11 yr old border-collie/eskie mix and Eddie, a 3.5 yr old Pembroke corgi.  They get along fine.  She also for the first time, met our 3 cats too.  It was very cute to watch because she was not sure how to react/feel.  She cocked her head and looked like what am I to do with them?  Harmony once again, she just sniffed and when one of the kitties came to her, she sniffed and stepped back. So cute to watch.  She is a very respectful girl and will do fine placed by herself, with or without cats/dogs.  She was raised with children and is great with them also.  All around stellar personality.  She has quieted down at night (she whined a little bit at first) as in this short time, is already feeling very comfortable and content.  She rides just fine in the vehicle.  She did great at the vet.  She met our daughter who is 26 and really perked up and tail going!  I believe she could be a very social girl and could take her just about anywhere.  Of course, we have not had her that long but from what we have seen and what we feel, this is a good assessment.    She is just a lovely, wonderful foster girl.  She walks very nice and loves her play time/exercise time.
