Vinnie (Nikko 10-251)

I have had Nikko for about a week; he came to us as a stray but he was for sure raised by some lucky family as he is very clam, well adjusted and affectionate. He is quite overweight; he needs to lose about 30#. He has a low thyroid and is on meds for that now so we will surely see the weight start to drop. He is getting walked every day with my other 2 goldens. He will put his paw on your leg when he wants to be petted; he is quite the sweetie. The vet says he could be anywhere from 8 to 12 years old. He has an ear infection & allergies we are treating and will need some dental work.

If you are looking to sponsor this sweet dog, it would be so appreciated. We hope to attend a Senior Golden event coming up on Sept. 12th.

What I know so far about him in addition to the above is that he loves all people, adult dogs of any size, loves to ride in the car, loves his walks, easy to give meds to, is housetrained, and gentle. He did give a warning growl to the neighbor lab puppy who was climbing all over him, but that was it. He seems to have an excellent temperament. More later...

We adopted Vinnie in the fall of 2010. He had been found at a garage sale in IA with a much younger golden. Vinnie's age was said to be between 8 and 10 years old. We met for the first time at a Meet and Greet and my husband instantly fell in love with him. Was it his nose? his cute smile? the way he melted in your arms? We made him a part of our family in the fall of 2010 and hoped we would get to share a few years with this sweet senior golden.

Always right beside you with a paw on your lap, Vinnie had a very gentle soul. He helped welcome Eve, another golden into our home in the fall of 2011 and again in 2015 when Winnie #15-214TD came from Turkey.

I will miss the way he howled at me as I drove in the driveway at night with his tail wagging. We will miss his rolling on his back with almost a smile on his face and the way he looked at us with those big eyes of his.

Vincent Leonardo Joseph, we will be forever grateful we got to spend 6 wonderful years with you. You will always be loved and remembered by many, especially by us, your Mom and Dad. Rest well sweet boy. We will see you again someday, until then run free and continue to watch over us. We Love you so very much.

We adopted our first Ragom dog in 2007.  Shondra was a puppy mill mom and the wonderful experience we had with her helped us to make the decision to look to Ragom for our next dog.

"Vinnie" became a part of our family in August of 2010. We could not be more excited to have him. He is a gentle giant and really has settled into our family like he has always been here.  He knows basic commands loves to play with his tennis balls and loves to be brushed.   He makes us laugh and we just love him.

Vinnie came into Ragom as a stray whose time was up at a shelter in Iowa. We will never know his previous story but are so fortunate that Ragom took him in and we were chosen as his forever family.

Thank you Ragom for all you do!  Our family is once again complete.
