I would like everyone to give a BIG welcome to Allie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This wonderful girl has been at my home since Tuesday and is nothing but the sweetest girl in the world!! The original owners had to give her up since they were moving, and brought her to a shelter, well now she is in the loving hands of RAGOM! :) They kept her outside all of her life. They said she was ten, but when I took her to the vet, they believed her to be more along the lines of 8. And what girl doesn't want to be younger?!? :) She is a purebred Golden Retriever, weighing about 64lbs right now. She is taller though, and the vet says about 70lbs is perfect for her ;) She is a beautiful red color also. Love it!

When I picked up Allie from the shelter I noticed she did have some knots in her fur, I did not realize until I got her home just how bad it was! She had knots everywhere in her nice tail and on the feathering on her legs, so FD and I got the scissors and gave her a trim, and then gave her a bath. She was perfect through the whole thing. :) And now she is just BEAUTIFUL :)

This girl may be 8, but there is no way she acts like it! She has energy and is learning to play. Now how sad is that when an 8 year old Golden Retriever knows nothing about playing??? :( As I am sitting here typing this she is currently playing with a rope toy. How cute!! I do believe she will need a fence though. She is still a little scared from not ever living in a house and when we let her out we have her on a tie out and she is still a little afraid to come back in the house. So for right now I believe she needs a fence. This may change as she starts coming out of her shell more and realizing how good she is going to have it from now on! :)

When I took her in to the vet they did their tests and she tested positive for lymes. Now she is on some meds for 1 month and is in no way hurting at all. The pills will take care of it in no time! :) She does have ear infections in both ears, the vet figures she never really had her ears taken care of. Well they are getting the treatment now, and I already noticed she does not shake or itch at her ears as much! So wonderful!!

Now one would think that living outside all of your life, she would have problems with accidents in the house......well not this girl!! TOTALLY housebroken, not one accident EVER!! :) I mean that is how WONDERFUL she is!! She gets along with our cats just fine also. She was trying to engage our gray kitty into playing but he didn't seem interested. And all the resident dogs get along with her without an issue at all. She is the perfect all around girl! ;)

Just look at these wonderful pictures! Now how can you resist this girl?? Age is just a number! No need to look at that! This girl will fill anyone’s home with love and enjoyment! If you are looking for that perfect girl for your home, contact you placement advisor today. I mean it is too cute watching her play with the rope toy right now! :)

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!

WHEW!! I always love the Holidays, but I have to say that I am glad it is winding down now!! :)

Allie is still doing wonderful!! She is a GREAT girl!! Happy and loving life, loving toys and playing :) I can't say enough about this girl! She does not act like she is 8 years old, more like 4 years old!! :) I am so proud of how far she has come since we have gotten her! Soon she will be done with her pills for lymes and her ears look better all the time! She is just a joy to be around!

Merry (almost) Christmas Everyone!! :)

What can I say about Allie except that she is a wonderful girl! She has come a long way since we got her last Tuesday. She is now more willing to come up to us for attention. I guess that is an understatement....she is REALLY enjoying attention! :) I think that something may have happened with men in her life as she is a little shyer around foster dad sometimes. She is also getting the idea that it is ok to come back into the house after potty time :) Not one single accident has she had! What a girl!! :)

She is starting to play with other toys now since she see's the resident dogs play with them. She loves to flip her rope toy around, and really enjoys her Kong! What a cutie. She would still rather play with the cat then the other dogs, but she is engaging the other dogs to play :) I think the cat prefers it that way! hehe. She is very nice when she plays with the cat though! :)

She takes her medicine with no problems at all, and her ears are starting to look better, she doesn't itch or shake her head at all, indicating that they must feel a bit better also! :) Such a trooper!

Now I have to tell you something that happened on Sunday. Last week I started taking our resident Golden to the local nursing home to visit the residents. They sure love it! Well I decided that FD and I should also take Allie this time to see how she interacts with others :) WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Allie did WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was a big hit also and she was sooooooooo well behaved. Like she knew she had to be gentle and careful while she was there. They both got some treats, and lots of pets. I was just so proud of her! She even rode in an elevator without a problem! :) She made me tear up a little with how well she did! There was quite a few people, nurses included, that wanted them both to stay :) One person really wanted Allie to stay :)

If you are looking for a girl that will love you and others to no end, then look no further. Allie is your girl! She is not a dog that acts her age at all. She is learning about the real life of a dog and coming out of her shell all the time. She is loving to play now and will continue to learn. She knows sit, and shake really well now. :) I just can't say enough about her. Won't you give this girl a chance in your home? Look at this picture and just say YES!! :)
