Rex (Marvin 09-218)

Profile

Marvin is an awesome doggie!  He is utd on all shots, neutered and chipped.  He weighs 86 pounds and is a big boy with a great personality and a lot of charm.  He knows basic commands, has no aggression with food or the resident dog.  He is curious about the resident cat but not in an aggressive way.  I do not think he was around cats much.  He is very intelligent.  Marvin loves to play ball and go for walks.  He is a sweetheart with a big heart!

Adoption for Marvin/Rex took place Sunday July 19,2009 with the S. family.  He went to an awesome home.  They had such big smiles on their faces when we drove in with him.  We Love You Rex!

New photos of Marvin/Rex!  He is an 86 lb. GR/Lab mix utd on all shots and received a new dose of front-line and heart-guard, neutered and is a fun doggie.  In the pics he is with resident cat Sassy and on the right with resident dog Tanner.  They are buddies!  Marvin/Rex has no aggressions.  He is to say the least, a perfect well behaved dog.  He is no longer crated during the day while we are at work.  He loves to play ball and has learned to leave soggy tennis ball at the door before coming into the house.  He does not jump up onto furniture or beds and is very content sleeping on a cool uncarpeted floor.

He loves going for long walks, riding in the truck or car and shopping at the pet store.  He does not beg at the dinner table while people are eating.  He is an awesome friend!  He knows basic commands and learned "leave it" with the resident cat.  They became good friends using "leave it".  He is not afraid of thunder or startled by loud noises.  He is quick to be friends with other dogs and kids.   The size of other dogs or kids is not an issue with Marvin/Rex.  We call him Rex on account that while walking him the first time we said different names and he responded to Rex.He is a great dog and would be a loyal companion to other critters, kids and big people!

What a great caring intelligent dog!  He is an 8 year old golden/lab mix.  Has no aggression when meeting neighbors or friends dogs.  Ready to play.  Marvin/Rex has no issues now with resident cat, Sassy.  He learned new command "leave it" in dealing with his aggression with Sassy.  They sniff each other on the nose and no more chasing Sassy when outside together or in the house.  They are more relaxed around each other.

While walking him one evening we stumbled on a name Rex.  He responded to that name and have been calling him Rex.  Marvin/Rex learns new commands easily and is eager to learn.  Besides the basic, sit, stay, come and down he shakes, rolls a ball to you in the house.  After chewing his tennis balls we got him hard rubber and plastic balls that squeak.  He likes them better.

No issues with toddlers or kids.  He sits still while being petted by little people.  He loves going for long walks with resident dog Tanner.  He does not beg during people dinner.  He will bark when someone comes to the house but will not jump up or lick.  He loves to be massaged, going for rides and has no issues when being examined by the vet. He is an awesome dog with good energy!
