Missy (PrincessPeanut 09-136)

Profile

Sound the trumpets.  There's royalty in town.  Her Royal Highness Princess Peanut has arrived in Minnesota.

Princess P. was escorted to her temporary overnight foster home in Iowa by her owner who loved her very much. The little 6 month old girl came with a portfolio, toys, treats, food, bed and bells to attach to the door for outside demands.  She is up to date with her vaccinations and in excellent condition as far as I can tell.  Her owner just had too many dogs, so amid tears and hugs left her baby in RAGOM's care.  Thank you for trusting RAGOM.

Princess has quite a history.  Her dad, Liam 08-590, is still waiting for his forever family.  Her mom, Hope 08-591, and siblings Shawnie 08-576, Copper 08-577, and Scout 08-578 have been adopted.  The family was abandoned outside a farmhouse at Christmas last year, found by a good samaritan and surrendered to RAGOM.  Princess Peanut stayed behind, and through no fault of her own, has been surrendered to us.

She has already stolen our hearts as well as toys and bones from Meg, our resident golden.  Meg gives everything up with no hesitation or she teases Peanut with the keep away dance and then eventually drops it.

Notice who has most of the toy.  Our cat, MiMi and Princess play hide n seek, usually ending with both in the window or behind the loveseat.

Her SO wrote that she doesn't like crates and has never been alone more than 4 hours and that she has had free roam at night.  So, we decided to trust her.  She slept straight through with no accidents.  The fur butts were home alone today for about 3 hours and no problem with destruction or accidents.

She hasn't rung the bells, but she whines at the door.  We have been on two walks around the block.  She has a harness and still pulls.  We'll work on that if we can find a medium sized gentle leader.  I chauffered her highness to Petco today without any luck finding the right size gentle leader.  By the way, she sits in the front seat of my Escape and watches everyone and everything with a keen eye.  Very good, quiet passenger.  We met a very LARGE doberman today.  Peanut expected a curtsey and got snippy when it didn't happen.  The dobey just stood there and watched the royal tantrum and walked away.  It was funny.

Her highness jumped on the blue couch (a BIG NO) to take a nap.  She is the first foster that has not gotten in trouble for that.  She was so tired and still had her harness on so we let her nap for awhile.

Now you understand how she got her name.

Tomorrow we set up the required RAGOM vet check up and possibly her spay date.  We'll write about our little Princess Peanut after the dr. appt.

Crossed the bridge on 9/28/14

At six years old Missy left us too early. I hoped it would be at least another ten years before I'd even have to think about what to write here.

She stole our hearts from day one and left herself with many nicknames and us with so many wonderful memories. Her nicknames started when we went out of town one weekend. As soon as the car door opened, she slipped out and went exploring in the strange neighborhood. She was brought to the pound (who had already been notified she went missing) while we searched and was gone about an hour before the phone rang. For the rest of the weekend she was "Miss-demeanor" if she got snippy with another dog she was "Miss-fit" or if she got in trouble; "Miss-chief" I'm sure you get the point.

Missy was the best companion we could've asked for. She loved car rides, playing at the dog park, cuddling on the couch, taking turns between whose bed she'd sleep in at night and going for walks. I loved coming home and seeing her peeking behind the curtain from the house and that tail wag (which started right behind her neck) while standing at the top of the stairs when I came through the door. She could cheer you up in an instant with her smooches and cuddles if we got bad news or had a bad day, and always cracked us up with her "Wookie" sounds when she wanted to go outside. Missy had a very unique personality. She mainly just loved us and was happy no matter what we were doing as long as we were together.

The day before she left us, Missy seemed perfectly happy and healthy, still bouncing around, playing at night and by morning when we woke up she had trouble standing and seemed to be in pain. She continued to rapidly decline as the day went on, then she crossed the rainbow bridge in the early afternoon. The autopsy results showed nothing. The vet said she was in great shape and he couldn't find a thing wrong. Missy will always have a special place in our hearts. I'm sure she'll patiently wait for us at the gates of heaven to come home to meet her again someday.

Hi,

Princess P. made her first public appearance today and met her forever family.  They came from Brainerd just to meet her and were waiting when we arrived at Petsmart.  Her kingdom is many acres.  Her forever family already treasures her and her palace is fit for a queen.  We've only had you for a week, you've stolen our hearts and we miss you already Peanut. Enjoy your new dad, boy and cat.

Kisses & Squishes.....

Hey,

Princess P. here.  I'm a new girl & here is what I'm all about.

Spayed yesterday....Been there, done that.

I am 31 pounds of playtime energy.  I'm only 6 months, ya know.  But I settle right down if you want me to.

I really want another dog in your house with me cause I lived with other dogs.  I get lonely if my mom and dad or another fur butt ain't here.  It's okay, too if you want to stay home with me.  I'm very good company.

I'm okay with the resident cat, so I'll probably be okay if you have one or two.

I'm very beautiful and free of any yucky stuff like fleas or worms or infections cause I was loved a lot by my other family.  They loved me so much they put a saint on my collar to protect me.  St. Francis is watching over me.

I would like a fence but it doesn't have to be visible

I love to ride in the car.  I'm a very good co-pilot.

I tell you when I have to go outside to use the privy

I'm good with kids

I know SIT cause I do that before I eat. I'm learning STAY and  "Get Outta there" and "Get in here"

I like sleeping with you, but I don't crowd the bed, yet.  I'm just a kid and I'll get bigger.

I've only had 2 accidents in the house cause when I got here they didn't know my schedule yet.

That's all the Good Stuff.

Here's the not so good stuff:

I can't whistle, cause I had some teeth pulled yesterday

I pull when I take you for a walk.  We'll get a gentle leader this weekend and see if that helps.

FM says I have abamdonment issues, (whatever that is). She says I have a royal hissy fit if you leave me in the car even just for 20 seconds to walk around it.  I stll remember when I was abamdoned as a baby.  I didn't like that at all.

Sometimes I have an attitude, like when I have ta wear something goofy.

So, enough about me, tell your Placement advisor about you and then they'll ring me up.

Thanks for reading about me........  Princess Peanut

Oooops almost forgot to say that I'm making my first public appearance at the Roseville Petsmart Saturday 3/28
