In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:

This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Please give a big RAGOM welcome to returning boy Red.  Red is an 8-10 year old PB Golden Retriever.  Red was lovingly surrendered by his owner due to a change in their home situation.  Red has been in foster care for a few weeks now and I sure do have a lot to share.

Red has been to the vet and had a full work up.  On Red’s second day here he suffered from a seizure.  Red had his RAGOM check-up at the vet plus blood work to check for an underlying cause to seizures.  Thankfully Red’s blood work came back normal. I am very pleased to inform you Red has not suffered from any more seizures since being in foster care.  The vet has determined it is no necessary to have Red on medication for seizures at this time and we will continue to monitor him. Everything else came back normal and the vet cannot believe Red is an 8 year old boy.  He certainly doesn’t act like it.

Red is currently fostered with two male Golden Retrievers and two two-legged sisters.  Red’s foster sisters are two and ten months old. He does exceptionally well with young children.  Red has also been cat tested and doesn’t mine them one bit. Red is a very happy laid back boy.  He does have a fence here in his foster home but I know he would do well with border training.

In Red’s day to day activities he loves to play with stuff toys and fetch with a tennis ball.  Red acts much younger than his age and keeps up with my three and five year old goldens just fine.  One thing is for sure Red has the golden nudge down to a “T.”  He will literally sit holding paws with you for hours or curled up with his head on your lap.  Red is a dog who loves to be on the bed.  It is very apparent that this is something from his previous adoptive home and is important it be allowed in his forever home.  Red loves to cuddle on the bed more than anything.  A very unique trait to Red is he likes to carry random objects.  Red will pick up shoes, shirts, socks, or kids toys.  He doesn’t destroy them just likes to carry when he is excited to see you.  Red does an excellent job at dropping whenever you ask him to give up the inappropriate item. Red knows many commands including sit, laydown, shake, come, & drop.

If Red sounds like the he might be a great fit in your home pleas let your placement advisor know so you can come meet one heck of an amazing boy.

Hello RAGOM, Here are some photos of Pyro/Red 08-585, taken in September 2016, for Happy Endings.

Pyro/Red has been with me for about 2.5 years.  He is fine and a happy dog.  He enjoyes playing with his friends, the neighbor dogs.  Pyro/Red is a good dog.  He also is excellent at destroying tennis balls.

Thanks,

Philip Y.

This is Pyro Red reporting. Things are going well in my world.  It was just 2 years ago I found my forever family. Been a good run. My friend, Simon, (he is the gray guy on the left) came to visit for a few days. He also found his forever family a couple of years ago. Anyway,  we are both doing well, playing chase the ball, and playing with the neighbor goldens. The life of a golden is definitely living the life. No worries here.

This is an exciting time for me. My daddy is going away on vacation and I get to stay with Simon (07-082). I have stayed with him before and do we ever have fun. Both Simon and I like to take gloves, well, I will sneak any clothing I can find and carry it around. We get to chase tennis balls, too. I don't get to keep them, probably because I like to chew them to shreds. But I am going to have a good time here, but I hope my daddy doesn't take too long of a vacation.

That is me and Simon in the picture with Simon's daddy. That's me in the front...aren't we handsome guys?

Here are recent pictures of Pyro/Red.     He is fine and a great dog.   Very good at destroying tennis balls.  Enjoys the good life.  Lots of friends and room to run around.  Thanks    Phil Y.

Pyro/Red here reporting on my new digs. I have lots of room to run and no fences or leashes unless we go somewhere. Lots of car rides and lots of play time with the neighbors dogs. A big lake to swim in but the ice just went out and still too cold for swimming. Lots of tennis balls to fetch but I can only get one at a time in my mouth. Have demonstrated my skill in quickly chewing the covers off the balls unless someone takes them as soon as I return with them. A nice big bed to sleep in if my master does not take too much space. Lots of attention and nice sunny spots in the house for a nap. Getting my master trained to care for me as needed. I can bark to get into the house. All for now. Phil Y for Pyro/Red

Red has been officially adopted. His adopted dad is calling him Pyro/Red in honor of his original name. Everyone has settled in very nicely together. Pyro/Red has even met many of the neighboring dogs and has already had play dates. Pyro/Red's dad is excited for spring to take him swimming. He is truly living the Golden Life. Your foster family is SO happy you got the happy ending you deserved!
