Profile

Sully is a dark red full Golden who made it to Iowa thanks to a very kind transporter. She called to tell me that he is precious and a leaner! She was right...he definitely is! He sits, comes, and shakes. The first thing he did when he got out of the car was to lay in the empty kiddie pool. We immediately filled it up with water. He laid on his side and relished the moment! It is safe to say that he LOVES water and would love a forever home on a lake! We gave him a bath then and he was super; he sat through the whole grooming experience with his eyes closed.

He is great with our female and male dogs. No problem! Sully definitely needs a home with a toy box. He has taken out all of the dog toys and is constantly carrying something around. His record so far is three toys in his mouth at one time. We may have a Guiness World Record holder here! His previous home said that he loves to have a tennis ball thrown around.

Dear RAGOM,

It is with a sad heart that I need to inform you that our beloved Sully has passed over Rainbow Bridge as of 1/27/2019. Thank you so much for the opportunity to adopt him so many years ago. He was a wonderful family member.

Sully came to live with our family on 8/17/2007. From our first meeting with Sully we knew he was a right match for us, and he’d found his furever home!

Sully was a gentle-hearted soul and loved to be around people and other animals. If the movie UP had been out when we got Sully, we may have changed his name to Doug the Dog – as that is a perfect description of Sully -  “I am Doug the Dog and I love you” Hindsight, Sully would have made a great therapy dog for anyone who just needed to sit and pet a furry friend. As he could lay there and be petted for hours.

Sully LOVED his kongs and would always carry around one (or two) with him , even up to his last days. He loved to play with his golden sister, Molly, take car rides, go on walks, eat pizza crusts and chocolate cake (with a subsequent visit to the vet) and just be with you.

As Sully aged, he found comfort in sleeping on our living room chair with his bed buddy – Toby the cat. His fur changed from dark red to mostly white, but he was always happy and wanted to be near you.

We love and miss you Sully, but we know you are no longer in pain and that we will see you again.
