Hi All,Cheryl made it home to Alexandria, after coming all the way from Missouri; in just one day! We participated in her intake when all 38 dogs came it. It was a very well timed and organized event. She got her rabies shot, a bath, and a few hotdog chunks for being so good. After that, she was loaded back up and we made the 2 hour drive back to Alex. She did very well.    We have had her for only one full day, but she is the most Velcro dog we have ever had. We have been out for several walks in the yard and she stays very close. She is starting to eat and took a good nap with her foster dad this afternoon. We could not tell who was snoring the loudest. My money is on the dad.   Since Cheryl is a new name for her, we have been calling her Sherri or just Che-Che. She is about five years old AND she is pregnant. We do not know her due date. She has met our Lab, Hanna, and they do not seem to mind each other. We have attached pictures so you can see her intake and her current lovely, after bath/nap, self. She is a very sweet girl. More later after we figure out when she is due. If you are interested in sponsoring her, please email rescueatragom [dot] org.

Dear RAGOM,

With great sadness we inform you, our sweet Cheryl, has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. She was 14 and half years old and our family has been blessed to have her as part of our family for 9 and half years. She was a Missouri puppy-mill rescue and she gave birth to her last puppies at her foster family. Some of her favorite things were car rides, rolling or laying in the grass or snow and being at the lake. She was such a sweet, gentle and loving golden. Everyone who met her loved her and we miss her so much. Special thank you to RAGOM and to her foster family for taking such good care of her and her puppies. We have so many wonderful memories of Cheryl and she will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Hi All,      It has been a while since we have sent an update so here goes. Since the last of the pups left her weight has been increasing and her health has been good. She eats two cups of food twice a day and loves bones and treats between times. Her weight is between 55 and 60 pounds. Right now she has a few spots that are either hotspots or allergies and she has lost some fur. Both are 'hidden' areas (under her collar and the bottom of her tail) and not noticeable.    Cheryl is house trained and has run of the house morning and night. We leave her out during the day and she has been alone for up to six hours. We are allowing her to lay with us on the beds and couch. She likes it for a little while and then will go off and lay on the carpet. Honestly, we have been debating about keeping her ourselves,(the reason for no recent update); but decided that we would stop fostering if we kept her and we are not yet ready to do that just yet.     Cheryl likes to chew on toys, bones and sticks. She likes to swim and go for boat rides. Exceptionally loud noises scare her (car alarms, fireworks and lightning), yet the vacuums does not. Cheryl like affection, but she is not a 'needy' dog. When we are watching TV, she is happy to watch with us, or go lay down on the cool floor of the other room. Check out the new pictures!

Hi All,   Well, it has been a busy few weeks with Cheryl and her puppies. Cheryl is such a good mom. She is so gentle with everyone and lets all pet her pups. She has a very tender heart. We have started the pups on dry food and that has helped the scratches on Cheryl's tummer. Cheryl loves to go for walks and does not pull. She is getting better at retreiving every day. We are still working on house training and learning her 'potty-signs'. She has run of the house at night and has not yet had an accident. Like many puppy-mill dogs, she does frighten easily. We have been trying to expose her to many different things so that she will become the perfect golden.   She will be going to the vet in the next few weeks for her spay and then she too will be ready for her forever home. More later!

Hi All,Cheryl continues to do well. She is a great mom. She has been making good strides. This week, she went down the dark stairwell without any coaxing. She has also be wading in the lake a little more. She enjoys sniffing for bunnies and chipmunks. We go for walks and she does not pull on the lead. She is sending her sponsors lots of love. Here are more pictures for you to enjoy!

Hi All,Cheryl went to the vet today. She is in good health. Because she is pregnant, we will be waiting to give her the rest of her shots. Speaking of babies, Cheryl looks like she will have about six. We had an ultrasound done and we counted six heads. Foster dad went to K-mart to purchase her a birthing place (the pool).Cheryl continues to come out of her shell. Over the past few days, we have managed to get her to fetch a ball, and even go into the lake for a short swim. As long as foster sister Hanna does it, so will she. We have been taking walks both morning and night and she pulls very little. Take a look at all the pictures of our fine gal.Cheryl here....a special thanks and slobbery kisses goes out to my sponsor, Kelly. We really apprecaite your support!Love, Cheryl
