Bailey 03-213

Profile

Bailey is a purebred neutered Golden Retriever with AKC papers. He will be 4 years old in September. Bailey is very friendly, housebroken, has been obedience trained and gets along with other dogs and cats. He is well behaved in the house. Bailey is used to free run of the house and has been taking naps with me this weekend on my bed.

Bailey is quite playful and has a lot of energy so he might be better with older children rather than toddlers. Even though he is energetic, he is not what you would consider hyper. He has very good manners and listens well. Bailey would do best in a house where he would get lots of exercise and playtime each day. He does act like a puppy at times and does some mouthing of my hands.

Bailey has a light build and the previous owner had his coat trimmed down for the summer - that is why his coat is short. He is a very pretty dog and has a very fine face.

He is getting over an ear infection right now. I will have that rechecked before he leaves with a new family. Otherwise, Bailey is healthy and up to date on all of his vaccinations and heartworm prevention.

Bailey is a very loving, fun dog and is ready to become a member of your family.  Bailey would be great for anyone interested in doing agility. He likes to jump high in the air when playing, he is quick and fast on his feet, and loves to play tag. He is built like a little deer and is certainly fast like one!

On Thursday December 18, my owners (John, Cindy, and Jennifer) drove me to my veterinary clinic. They told me I was going to take a walk across a Rainbow Bridge! I like walks and haven’t been able to go on them lately because I haven’t been doing well so I wasn’t too sure what they meant. They were crying when I looked at them. Honestly, it scared me a bit and my lips started quivering. The Vet gave me some treats and that calmed me down.

My owners told me this is a special bridge and there will be people and other dogs waiting for me….for ME…..to join them when I cross over. I remember looking at Jennifer – she is my #1 owner – she was holding my head and crying and kept saying “It’s ok, Bailey.”

The Vet gave me some medication and I was getting sleepy. I turned my head to Jennifer but I couldn’t see her clearly. I did feel at peace though and then I felt like I was crossing this bridge! Some people were calling me who looked like John and Cindy! Then I saw another Golden Retriever (it sure seemed like his name was Shadow) and a Beagle whose name to me seemed to be Keya! And then I saw someone whose picture was hanging in John and Cindy’s bedroom and He called me by name. I walked over to Him and He petted me. The next thing I knew I could see and hear and walk fine! He told me to go play with my new friends so Shadow, Keya, and I ran and ran and ran. It was FUN! It IS fun!

I know one day my owners will join me. Until then, Shadow and me will “guard heaven” as we used to “guard the house” for our owners. I attached a picture of me earllier the day I crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Bailey crossed the Rainbow Bridge at 6 pm December 18. We miss you, Bailey.

My name is Bailey (AKA Bailey Joseph of the Kingdom).  I was rescued by John and Cindy in August 2003 from RAGOM.  My birthdate is September 27, 1999.  That makes me 15 years old on Saturday!   Take a look at the two pictures of me on my birthday.  While I am getting quite slow, I still like to go for walks everyday....course now they are only 15 minute walks, but I still like them!

For my birthday, John gave me some sticks and took a photo of me breaking them in pieces.  He knows what I really like!

Well, I just wanted to let you know that all is well.  Thanks for letting me adopt John and Cindy.

Bailey.
