8/2/05: Brandi is here and can you say P-A-R-T-Y??? Oh my gosh this girl is so excited to be in a fenced yard with SWIMMING POOLS!!! Brandi has been surrendered from a home that didn't have a yard and she is way overdue for some outside romping and as you can see from the tail picture, she was running around so fast, I couldn't even get her in the frame. The pools were another story. I did NOT expect her to completely flip out on the water like she did. I have a little fountain, and after she tried to lay and dunk under in that (too small)...I couldn't fill the pools up fast enough for her. She rolled in them and dug in them and threw herself into the pools repeatedly. She hasn't had the opportunity to swim for the last 4 years, and I would say she is going to love the lake. The pictures tell the true story, check her out!!

Now for the specifics. Brandi is a spayed 5 year old, that is coming back in after being with a family for the past 4 years. They are surrendering her because they just don't have time for her now that they have two small children. Before that, her 1st home had to give her up because her owner became ill. It's high time this girl find her true forever home now.

She met my other foster Annie 05-205 and my resident dog Sadie just great. She was a little TOO rowdy for them in fact, because she was SO very excited to be in this new place where she can run AND have friends. It was soooooo cool to see her having so much fun. She also had a cat at her last home, but mine haven't surfaced yet, and I don't think they will for a few days.

We'll go in for our vetting, but Brandi's owners took very good care of her and I think she is probably up to date on everything. I just picked her up tonight, so I'll check in again soon. Just wanted to get the pool party pictures up. We'll try to get some dry shots soon, too.

Happy New Year Everyone!  It’s me again…Brandi!  I know, it’s been quite awhile since my last update, but I have been having so much fun!  It was my 11th birthday on New Years Eve!  Hard to believe, huh?  I’m just as spry as ever!  OK, maybe a little more gray hair, but I’m still gorgeous (as my mom says)!

My fur butt sister Ella and I still wrestle and play chase every day!  Oh, the big news…..my mom and dad purchased a cabin up north!

I have my very own lake!  OK, maybe not my very own, but I sure like it a lot!  We go up to the cabin even in the winter.  I love to help my dad build a fire in the fireplace, then Ella and I park our butts on the couch and relax.  Dad says that’s what having a cabin is for!

Here’s a couple of pictures of me…I love when mom gets the camera out.  I sit very pretty!

Hello!

In April of 2005 my husband and I sent our 12 year old golden Harley to the Rainbow Bridge. We were heartbroken. Two weeks later our vet called us to let us know of a golden retriever who needed a home and thought of us. Not sure if we were ready yet, we agreed to go “just look” at her. Well, needless to say the “just look” turned into a definite YES, we would love to give her a good home, and Ella came home with us. We had Ella for a few months and decided she needed a “sister”, so we kept checking the RAGOM website every day, and got approved to adopt another golden when the right dog came along. We just happened to be at one of the RAGOM meet and greet’s one Saturday when, there she was! We were just leaving and she and her foster mom were just walking in……it was love at first sight!

Brandi has been a member of our family since. Don’t get me wrong, there were some bumps in the road for the first two weeks, because Brandi plays hard and rough and Ella wasn’t so sure about having a “sister”. I even thought about returning her to RAGOM, but foster mom Susan encouraged me to give it a little longer. Thank goodness we did! I can’t imagine life without our Brandi fur butt.

Thank you RAGOM for all you do for these beautiful dogs! Here’s a couple of pictures of “Senior Brandi”.

Hi everbody! It's me Brandi! I'm taking a few minutes away from my play time to send a couple of pictures of my new sister Ella and me playing with our favorite toys!! Aren't we sooooo cute!

I am having a great time in my new forever home! My mom and dad love me so much! I wonder how they ever got along without me. My mom and dad want to say a big THANK YOU! to everybody at RAGOM who took such good care of me. See you at the picnic! Love and kisses from both me and Ella!

I wanted to get some dry glamour shots up of Miss Brandi, and I think we had a great photo shoot. She is up to date on all her shots, and is heartworm and fecal negative. Her left ear is a little red, so we will clean and treat it. Otherwise, the vet said she is very healthy and quite cute with her apricot colored nose and eyes. Her eyes are so beautiful. They fade out to a cool yellow-ish color. They look like little sunsets.

She had a tad of storm anxiety last night, but was fine once she knew I was by her side. She also tries to mount my female, which is weird, but we are working on that, too.

Lastly, I would really like to see this sweetie go to a yard that has a fence. She is a 'runner' and needs to be safe. I also think it's only fair to her since she has spent the last 4 years living without a real yard. Fair to give her freedom to run around now!!
