07/03/2017:

Chesney is a gorgeous English Cream Golden Retriever puppy born on May 18th to Patzy 17-106. He has had his first round of vaccinations and will be neutered in a couple of weeks. Chesney had a small rectal prolapse that the vet said was due to worms that all puppies get from their mother. It was stitched, and within one week, he was healed and has had no issues. It is not expected to be an issue in the future. He is a typical 6-week-old puppy--chews EVERYTHING, digs, runs, and tumbles over his own feet. Just adorable! And very snuggly. He has been socialized with all ages and colors of people, many types of noises from vacuum cleaners to lawn mowers, thunder, planes, etc, floor surfaces, and is very well-adjusted. His socialization will need to continue in order for it to be sustained. He has a lot to learn, and it is a big responsibility to assist a puppy to become a well-adjusted adult dog. Are you committed to helping him be the best dog he can be?

Please remember as you look at these adorable pictures:

  • Puppies are a LOT of work in their first year!
  • Puppies have small, immature bladders and cannot go a full work day without being let out. You will need to make arrangements for someone to come in midday to let him out until he is 6 months old.
  • Puppies NEED obedience training, socialization, and manners training. RAGOM gets many unmannered, undersocialized dogs surrendered due to the simple lack of training.

Chesney was adopted by a special lady with a huge heart! She adopted a previous special needs foster of mine that we lost way too soon this past Spring. Marcie was a big help from the day the puppies were born, sending supplies, puppy sitting and loving them all up! She got to see her boy grow from a tiny one pound pup to a whopping 10 week old snuggler. He has already been to many local businesses and restaurants, where he is a star, of course! Chesney is now known as Waylon Ford. We are so happy for them and excited to know that we will see him grow into the Golden life he deserves.
