She loves napping on various dog beds in her foster home and getting treats! Kylie is unavailable for adoption due to cancerous masses and metastasis to her lungs. She will live out her days being loved and spoiled in her foster home. This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Please welcome sweet Kylie to the RAGOM family!  Kylie is a 14 year old PB Golden Retriever that came to us after her family moved and couldn't take her.  Kylie gets along great with all people and kids that she meets!  She does well with dogs after a slow introduction.  When she first arrived there was a little growling if my dogs got too close to her, but now she shares dog beds and has no problem with them at all.  She has done great with our adult cats, however, our two young kittens seem like prey to her, so we don't trust her around them.

Kylie is housetrained and can be kenneled, but we trust her with free roam with no issues.  She does have some minor storm and firework anxiety.  Usually she just wants to find a place to hide, like our bathroom.  She has never been destructive because of it.  Kylie is used to having a fenced yard, which is good, because she is a little hard of hearing so her recall isn't great.

Kylie had her initial vet visit, and it was eventful.  She was already current on vaccinations and heartworm test.  Kylie had a high fever and cough, which ended up being pneumonia.  She also has several large masses that start on her abdomen (likely mammary masses) and go up her flanks, sides, and chest.  They were tested and due to the amount of tumors, how much they have grown in the short time we have had her, and lung changes shown on X-ray that are likely metastasis of the cancer, Kylie will be unavailable for adoption.  Surgery is not an option based on the number of tumors and the difficult recovery she would face, which we don't think she is strong enough for.  Due to the likely metastasis in her lungs, she pants most of the time and is winded easily.  She will live out her days being loved and spoiled in her foster home.  She is still eating well and we have her on pain meds which seem to make her more comfortable.  Our goal is to keep her as comfortable as we can, and when we can't do that anymore, we will lovingly send her across the rainbow bridge.

We want to thank RAGOM for taking in this wonderful girl and providing all the medical care she needs.  Her medical bills have been high, so if you have been thinking about donating to RAGOM or sponsoring a dog, now is the time.  Kylie and her foster family would be so appreciative!

It is with much sadness that we must share the news that sweet Kylie has crossed the bridge. Her cancer was very aggressive and we were no longer able to keep her comfortable and pain free. Run free, beautiful girl. We miss you and love you.
