Profile

BONDED PAIR: Please refer to both Chloe 18-020 and Finnigan 18-019 profiles. Chloe and Finnigan came into foster care after many great years shared with their surrendering owner. As difficult as it was, their owner knew he could not continue to provide the life they deserved. Both dogs are friendly, goofy, and love to compete for attention. Chloe and Finnigan absolutely love walks and exploring. Both dogs are completely house broken and do not counter surf. A home with older children who are experienced with dogs is preferable for this pair. Chloe and Finnigan are like Velcro: whether they’re snuggled up on the couch or walking side-by-side, they’re a bonded pair and need to remain together. They would love to join an active family that spends a lot of time outdoors and doesn’t mind getting deep in the dirt or snow. Chloe and Finnigan are very special and deserve a Golden life!

Chloe and her brother Finnigan found their forever home and are officially Iowans. Chloe's family made the five hour trek to meet her and fell in love instantly with her big heart and sweet personality.

Chloe now has a large yard to run and fetch as many tennis balls as she wants. Her new family promises to work on perfecting her walking skills and give her lots of sniffing adventures. Chloe's new family spoils all their dogs with healthy food and fancy Orvis dog beds and has an excellent, longstanding relationship with their vet team.

At almost ten years old, Chloe found the best owners who will take very good care of her as she ages. The family even built special dog stairs off their deck to allow easy access for an aging and possibly arthritic dog.

As your foster parents, we thank you for sharing your cuddles and wet kisses. Your excitement for walks and tendencies to whimper, jump and spin in circles when you saw your lease will be one of our favorite memories. We wish you the most wonderful life Chloe-bear, never stop exploring dear girl.

Chloe is loving the spring weather, her nose is keeping quite busy during our walks as she meanders from one side of the sidewalk to the other. She too, like her brother Finnigan (Finn), needs continued leash training, her strength and excitement get the best of her manners at times.

In the last week, Chloe has truly settled in at our house, rarely do you not find her on our bed while we get ready in the morning or on the couch in the evening. We're learning that Chloe is a pro at collecting burs, sand, and dirt in her bear paws. Needless to say, our house has never been so dog friendly. ;) Chloe is startled by loud sudden noises in the home and definitely avoids the vacuum; however, the nearby train yard does not seem to bother her at all.

A few of our favorite Chloe traits...

Immediately after greeting us post work, Chloe often runs away and quickly returns with a ball or a toy, then she's ready for her ear rubs. She's a terrible retriever, but she sure tries. Chloe loves treats, especially greenies, it's the only thing she eats faster than her brother Finn. She always gives Finn his space, but once he's done, she swoops in to survey the area just to be sure he did not miss any pieces.

Chloe will do nothing but brighten your home and fill your hearts. Please consider adopting her and her sweet brother Finnigan!

After a weekend trip to the north shore, we learned that Chloe is a great travel companion for road trips, she settles down quickly and is very calm in the car. Jumping in and out of the Subaru was difficult at times, but with a little lift she was in. Chloe shared her voice this weekend and tended to whimper when she was excited or bored, alerting us to get a move on. Chloe is the leader of her pack, she never once let her brother Finnigan (aka Finn) lead on the hiking trails.

For being almost ten, Chloe has so much spunk and ambition. As much as Chloe loves to hike and run, she's the first to plot down in a mound of snow to cool off her belly, she's such a smart girl. Chloe loves to chew on sticks and is learning to be more playful with tennis balls and chew toys. Chloe looks forward to many more adventures around Minnesota, please consider adopting her and her brother Finnigan 18-019 into your home!

A few words from Chloe: “I really enjoy being in front of my brother leading the hike, every time he’d get close I’d just pick up my speed. Thank goodness for these long legs of mine and his shorter leash. One thing I didn’t understand is why these humans wouldn’t share their beef sticks with us... so rude!”

Chloe 18-020

Chloe (18-020) and Finnigan came into foster care after many great years shared with their surrendering owner. As difficult as it was, their owner knew he could not continue to provide the life they deserved. Therefore, Chloe (age 9 ¾) and Finnigan (age 6) were warmly welcomed into RAGOM's care and arrived to our Minneapolis home in late February.

Both dogs were friendly from the beginning, but Chloe was a bit more reserved than Finnigan. Being younger, Finnigan’s manners were much less mature and kisses to the face were in order. After introducing the dogs to our home we embarked on our first walk together; both dogs were ecstatic to see the sight of leashes and puppy immaturity took them over. After detangling leashes we were on our way, their excitement and curiosity filled our hearts.

Since these initial moments we’ve shared many giggles, snuggles, and adventures through the city with the duo. Chloe and Finnigan love walks and have gradually increased their distance. Both dogs could use some training to reduce their rambunctious habits on walks and limit pulling. However, both dogs have made improvements and do best when walked with two humans. The snow and ice have made it more difficult to assess these two properly.

Both pups are house trained and have free range of our home. The surrendering owner did not crate them, nor have we. Neither has had any accidents and tolerate our 8-9 hour work schedule. If not monitored one of them may sneak a few nibbles of the other’s food, but there has been no issues with feedings.

After their visit to the vet, both dogs are up-to-date on all vaccinations, but unfortunately have a common parasite called whipworm, which is easily treated with monthly Interceptor (heartworm treatment) and then retested in 3 months. In summary, Chloe is very healthy for being almost 10 years old, but required treatment for a bilateral ear infection.

Chloe and Finnigan are like velcro: whether it's snuggled on the couch or walking side-by-side, they’re a bonded pair. Therefore, they need to remain together. Both dogs have lived with several cats and respect children. It would be recommended they be in a house with older children (10+) due to their intermittent exuberant personalities and jumping tendencies.

They would love to join an active couple or family that spends a lot of time outdoors and doesn’t mind getting deep in the dirt or snow. Chloe and Finnigan are very special and deserve a Golden life!
