Sailor (Leo 18-032A)

LEO 18-032A

Profile

Leo came into RAGOM a scared and tiny pup. Since having him only a week, he is opening up like a flower. Although many things are scary yet, he is potty trained, walks great on a leash and loves just hanging out on the couch. He is still a work in progress but progressing beyond my imagination.

Hey Everyone. This is Leo! It looks like I found my furever home! Wooof!! My new mom and I made an instant connection. It was like I knew, this was where I was meant to be. I love my new dad, too. My fur sister looks like she wants to kinda mother me, too, and that's ok. My new dad likes to go on car trips and take my new sis along, so I guess I will get to go, too. I can't wait! This is so much better than what I had. I am loving it already!

Leo comes to RAGOM from a commercial breeder. He is a tiny little guy. At 6 months he weighs only 32 pounds, but he's just started eating the good food we are offering him.

Initially Leo was very afraid of everything and everyone. He even soiled inside his kennel the first 2 nights. But, after 2 nights of bathing, he has not had an accident in his kennel or in the house. He loved the bath and actually looked like he was sitting in a hot tub or something.

Within his first week he went from walking on a leash like a bucking bronco, to crouching as he walked, to walking closely behind his fosters.

He is still very timid but has wagged his tail a few times for the resident dog, who would very much like to play. For now he chooses to lay on the couch and chill. We have yet to see the puppy energy inside, but wait anxiously for that day.

Leo is like a rose, unfolding each day with something new. He is a sweetheart and I am so proud of how far he has come in just one week!

While he is still progressing marvelously, his forever home should be on board with lots of love to give and patience; a home and large dog to show him what life is supposed to be like. Leo will need a fenced-in yard with a large dog as his mentor.

In addition, Leo will also need a home with children over the age of 10. He will be available for adoption once he is neutered.
