Little Miss Sunshine has been adopted! She definitely hit the forever home JACKPOT! Sunny is loving her new life on five fenced-in acres with two RAGOM alum brothers and a doting mom and dad.
Her life will be filled with love forever, and my heart couldn't be happier. It's finally all about you, Sunny! You couldn't be more deserving! You've got a big, huge piece of my heart.
Happy life, sweet girl. I love you.

Sweet, beautiful Sunshine is doing great! She is an absolutely amazing mama, but her mom-duty days are winding down. I am so excited for her to be able to live her life of a cherished family member and to finally have things be all about her! She most definitely deserves it.
So, what does she need in her forever home? And when will she be ready?
Sunshine would like a home with another large breed, confident dog. She would thrive in a quieter home (no young, noisy kids). Although she is gentle and good with kids, they do make her a little uneasy if they are too boisterous or move too quickly (which kids do -- and should be able to do!).
Most of all, she needs to be exposed to this big wonderful world! Hikes, walks, camping trips, car rides, ice cream (she made sure I didn’t forget to mention that), naps on the couch, a comfy dog bed, a supply of squeaky toys, and lots and lots of love.
Sunshine is an incredibly special girl, and she will make her forever family so very happy. I’m already jealous of whomever that might be.
Sunshine will need to fully wean her pups (about another week) and see them off to their forever homes. She will need to be spayed before she can be officially adopted, but it’s time to start looking for her perfect forever home!

Little Miss Sunshine was welcomed into RAGOM about one month ago. Sunny, as she is affectionately known, was one of the lucky dogs who made it out of a commercial breeder auction and into the hands of rescue. With a belly full of puppies, she could have easily been purchased by another breeder and continued to live her life as a puppy producer rather than as a cherished and loved family member. Thanks to RAGOM her fate is Golden!
Sunny is a baby herself at only one and a half years old. She’s absolutely stunning with a silky red coat, an adorable little nose cowlick, and a very happy tail that wags her whole tiny body when she’s happy.
We knew she was expecting puppies when we took her in, as her pregnancy was confirmed a few days after her rescue. We didn’t know how many, but we were so excited to show her the good life and help her raise her family in our loving home.
On the morning of April 4, a week and a half after she came to us, Sunny delivered 10 beautiful and perfect puppies. It was immediately apparent that she was an excellent mother. She is so gentle and attentive. We are in awe of her, and she definitely has earned super hero status around here!
Sunny is busy raising and feeding her 10 babies, and we are busy helping her. She only weighs about 50 pounds and is eating a huge amount of food (8 cups or so per day) to keep up her milk supply to feed her puppies. She trusts us and allows us handle and love her babies, and we are having so much fun with them already.
We’re in for a real adventure as we watch them grow. Stay tuned for more updates on Sunshine the wonder dog and more information on her pups as they grow.
