Nutmeg 18-045A moved to my foster home on April 12th because her former foster's cat was afraid of her. Nutmeg barked at the cat when he tried to eat Nutmeg's food. She was just waiting for her future furever family to have their home visit done so she was staying here temporarily.

Nutmeg now has a tall Golden brother to play with and  learn from. She is very lucky that her new Mom is home almost every day. Congratulations to the B family on your new addition to the family!

Nutmeg is slowly but surely adjusting to the golden life.  She still spends most of the time in her kennel, but greets me when I walk up to the door.  She definitely loves our walks, and generally trots right along.  She sometimes gets spooked by a loud car passing and freezes, but I can always get her going again by saying her name and gently tugging on her leash.  Here is a picture of Nutmeg and my resident dog Gatsby on a walk (Nutmeg is on the left):

As previously mentioned, Nutmeg is in good health, although we did discover that she has hookworms and have treated her for them.  She had an accident in my house a few days ago, and I realized it was because I hadn't let her outside for a while.  Nutmeg will be spayed on Monday, April 2nd, and will be available to be adopted after that!

Nutmeg was brought into RAGOM with four other dogs from a breeder auction. Before coming to RAGOM, her experiences with the outside world were limited. As a result, Nutmeg is fearful of most things. She loves her kennel, and rarely leaves it when we're home.

We have discovered that Nutmeg likes walks. There is an open park near where I live where we've been taking her, using a longer tether. She looks the happiest when we're here.

Nutmeg is very sweet and will sometimes walk up to me to be pet. She's very calm but can also be playful around my resident dog, Gatsby. She seems to be okay around cats, but has snarled at mine a few times for getting too close to her food. She doesn't chase cats.

Her first vet visit found her to be healthy, a bit overweight, and very timid. The poor girl hid under the chairs in the office!

Nutmeg needs a family to love her and be patient with her, and she will give you so much more in return. Please consider this sweet girl!
