Duke has been adopted! He has traded in the quiet country for big-city living.

He has a wonderful new dad, and it’s safe to say it was love at first sight with these two. There are many dogs living in his neighborhood and a nearby dog park that will give him the opportunity to make new friends.

His foster family will miss him greatly, but we’ll see him at Goldzilla. Happy tails, Duke!

Hi! It's me, Duke. I'm back!

I know, I know, you're wondering why the name change? It turns out I'm not a fan of curling and the name Landy just didn't appeal to me, so I stopped answering to it. My adoptive family and I decided we liked the name Duke, and so far it's really working for me.

I also learned how to write my own updates. Not to brag or anything, but I am really smart!

You're probably also wondering why I'm back with RAGOM. My foster mom wants to make it very clear that it was through no fault of mine and that my adoptive family loved me very much, but they were having some medical issues and couldn't care for me anymore. She tells me, "Once a RAGOM dog, always a RAGOM dog."

I've been back with my foster family for a week now. I was reunited with my Golden foster brother and I just love it. We get to wrestle together and go for walks together, and sometimes he even shares his favorite stuffed toy with me.

I would really like to have a buddy in my new home. It's not required, but I do like to play, so even doggy daycare or a neighbor dog would be really great to help me socialize and burn off some energy.

I mentioned I was smart, and that's no joke! I completed three, almost four, levels of obedience training in my former home. Foster mom says that I'm a much better listener than before. I've heard people say that I would be a really good candidate for a therapy dog and I couldn't agree more.

I do still like to counter surf, and foster mom is pretty sure it will be a lifelong habit. It's probably best that you keep all tasty treats out of my reach.

Now for the silly kind of embarrassing part of my story. When I was with my adoptive family, I got really stressed out with all the changes that were happening and I ate two rocks. One of them was removed with a scope; the other one was more tricky.

Foster mom brought me to the vet (I just love all the treats I get there), and they did something called surgery to get it out. All I know is my tummy feels much better without a big rock in it.

I did start an taking anti-anxiety pill after I ate the rocks. Foster mom gives it to me with my breakfast, and I eat it up with no problem. I can probably be weaned off this pill once I'm settled in my new home and my anxiety is lessened.

I'm up to date on my shots and preventatives. I do have a mild ear infection that is getting better.

That's it for now. My paws are tired. I am happy to be back with my foster family, but I'm looking forward to meeting my forever family!

I'm still handsome as ever.

Landy has been in his foster home for a week now and has settled right in.

When Landy was found on the streets of Istanbul, his rescuers remarked on how sad he was that he didn’t have a home. I think he knows he will soon be meeting his forever family, as I have only seen a happy, curious, typically wonderful Golden.

This week, we have discovered that he loves stuffed toys and tennis balls. Landy is also an expert-level counter-surfer. He has managed to steal a couple of cookies and a chicken breast with his surfing skills.

Landy loves to play and wrestle with my resident dog. Another dog isn’t a requirement for him, but I do think he’d like another dog in the house, doggy daycare, or trips to the dog park to socialize.

Landy is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick preventative. He does have a mild ear infection as well as coccidia, both of which should clear up without any problem.

Landy does find himself in the enviable position of having to gain roughly 8-12 pounds. He currently weighs 64 pounds. He is a tall boy and, once he fills out, will be very handsome with his slightly curly cream-colored fur.

Landy is a wonderful boy, but will benefit greatly from some obedience training. He is extremely food- and treat-motivated and very smart. He just needs patience and love to make him the best he can be.
