Pender met his match today. A self-proclaimed homebody who wanted a homebody companion. Pender will get to go on slow peaceful walks and will enjoy a fenced-in backyard. We think there are angels smiling down on this match made in heaven.

It is official: Pender is a GOOD BOY. He is so very easy to have around. He does have a few quirks:
- He needs me to come outside with him to go potty
- He does NOT like staying in a crate at all, but that is OK he is fine with free roam, and
- If I don't pay enough attention to him he will crawl into my lap and paw at me until I do
He is down 6 pounds since we got him, and he has about 10 more to go. He is absolutely, stunningly beautiful.
We really like this guy!

Pender is a beautiful Flat-Coated Retriever. He is strikingly handsome with his very shiny black curly coat and his caramel-colored eyes. He is well-mannered, sweet, and wonderful.
He came to rescue because of changes with his family. They had a new baby and extended family with a small child were moving in, making it too hard for Pender's family to care for him the way he needed. So, they did the best thing for Pender and gave him to rescue.
We will find Pender the perfect home.
If you are looking for a sweet, calm, well-mannered dog who needs just a little exercise every day, then Pender is for you. He will make a wonderful companion.
He can live in a house with other dogs, and I am sure he would be just fine in a house by himself. He just needs to be by his people.
I don't know about cats or small children. I just don't have any in my home.
Pender is crate trained, is potty trained, and can have free roam. He does not chew anything inappropriately.
Pender does need to lose a few pounds, so we will start working on that here in foster care. We live by the woods and have not spent a lot of time hiking this month since the mosquitoes are terrible.
Pender does not seem to like to play fetch, so we are thinking of other ways to get a little exercise. Luckily, Pender has a 2-year-old foster brother who is trying to get Pender some wrestling practice.
