We have great news! Our lovely Summer girl has been adopted.

I want to thank David and Jeannine for opening their hearts and home to a beautiful senior Golden. Summer will have lots of attention and love from her new Mom and Dad.

While I miss Summer a lot, I know she has found a great home. It's so nice to meet adopters that will take a senior dog and give them all that they need.

We don't know much about Summer's past, but we are pretty sure she had a rough life before coming to us. I am happy to know that our girl will spend the rest of her Golden years being doted on by her new family.

Good luck, Summer. You are a very special, sweet girl. It was so nice to have you with us while you found your way to a new life.

Summer is doing great. She has really come out of her shell.

With Harry 18-160 here, Summer has been running out in the yard and trying to play with Harry. He speeds by her, and she bounces and lets out little "woofs" at him. It's so fun to watch her having a good time.

I have tried to get her interested in a tennis ball, but she just doesn't know what to do with it. So for now, she joins in when she can and her heart sings.

Summer was spayed about 10 days ago. She has recovered well from that. So after having 16 teeth removed and her spay surgery, Summer should be all set for awhile. Even with all she has been through, she always has a wagging tail and look of appreciation on her face.

We take Summer and Harry 18-160 on two walks a day. Summer does a slow trot right beside me and she keeps her eye on me to make sure I am coming along. She doesn't want her people to get too far away. I keep telling her that I'm not going anywhere.

If you are looking for a laid-back girl who will love you beyond your wildest dreams, Summer is the one. It's so easy to fall in love with this beautiful soul. All she needs in return is care and lots of love for the rest of her days.

Summer is a 10- to 12-year-old purebred Golden Retriever. She is a very sweet girl. We don't know much about Summer since she came into RAGOM as a stray. We do know she is house trained, is well behaved and listens well, and she is a Velcro girl who wants to follow her people everywhere.

Summer had some medical issues when she came to us. Her two bottom canines and all of her upper and lower incisors were terribly worn down. The inside of her teeth were exposed so I can't imagine how painful that must have been to try and eat and drink water.

Summer had two separate dental surgeries to extract a total of 16 teeth. Three molars were pulled as they were problematic also. She is able to chew pretty well. We give her smaller kibble and some canned food, and the treats are easily chewed. All in all, she has recovered well from losing that many teeth.

Summer also had ear infections and a yeast infection on her skin. Her coat was not in good shape, but with more time and eating a better diet that should improve. Her ear infections have cleared up, but she will need regular checks to make sure her ears are clear.

Summer loves to go on walks. She walks perfectly on a leash, no pulling whatsoever. She just goes along and enjoys being outside and investigating all the fun smells. We take her on two walks a day. Summer does show signs of some arthritis and stiffness when she gets up or lays down, but nothing terrible.

Summer will be having her spay surgery this month. The vet thought she has probably had several litters of puppies.

Summer gets along with our other foster dog, Maggie 18-131, and our resident cat. She is an easy-going, affectionate Golden. While at the vet's office for her surgeries, everyone fell in love with her. I heard so many nice comments about her from everyone. Who can resist that beautiful gray face?

Summer's dental surgeries were quite expensive, so if anyone would like to donate towards those, we would greatly appreciate it. You can also sponsor Summer—just click the red "SPONSOR SUMMER" button here on her page.
