What an exciting day for the E family!  Their previous yellow lab, Mazy, has been gone for almost 3 years.  They finally decided they were ready to add to their family, and are over-the-moon excited to welcome Sophie, now to be known as Roxy.

Hi RAGOM friends,

My name is Sophie. I am a 12-week-old Goldendoodle puppy who found my way to RAGOM when I was surrendered by a commercial breeder because of the problems I was having with my eyes. I couldn't open my eyes because they hurt so bad.

When I came in, my first foster mom took me in right away to see the doctor. It turns out I have what is known as a bilateral entropion, which is a fancy way of saying my eyelashes were growing INTO my eyes.

The doctor says I need surgery for this, but put in a temporary tacking suture in the corner of each eye so my eyelashes aren't turning into my eyes now. This has helped tremendously and it is no longer painful to open my eyes.

If you look real close, you'll even see these little black stitches by the corner of my eye in some of the pictures my foster mom has been taking that she will post here. I am so amazed with this new world that I can see!

My current foster mom picked me up a week ago, and life as a RAGOM girl has been wild and crazy ever since! I have a foster sister, who understands puppies like me since she has had a hundred or so. She lets me go with her on walks in the neighborhood so I am learning about the leash.

I am a very busy puppy, with so many things to learn. It's been kind of raining a lot, but I don't mind walking in the rain. We even have a rain room in the house, and my foster mom lets me jump in the shower with her in the morning!

In the past week, I have figured out how to go up and down stairs. I have found my tail, which I thought was pretty clever.

I am currently unavailable because, thanks to RAGOM, I am scheduled for additional evaluation for my eyes. I also need to see the doctor about my other surgery so I won't be having puppies in the future.

My perfect family would be one that has a ton of love to share with me, and is willing to take me to puppy class so I learn how to be a good puppy and become really smart.  I have a lot of energy so no couch potatoes please!  Lots of cuddling and tummy rubs would be high on my list of needs too.

Stay tuned as I will be looking for my furever home soon.
