Helloooo! It's me, Carlie. Foster Mama says I have found my voice (but I don't sound like that -- it's more a ruff, ruff). I don't use it very often, just when Mama comes home from work. And, Mama found out, when she took my foster sister to get cleaned up and a hair cut, that I voiced my displeasure! She says I am pretty quiet otherwise.

Hey did you know spring is here? I store up all my energy in my favorite spot so I can stre-e-etch those limbs when we go outside. (Got one up on them! HA!) Foster Papa has taken up this fast walking exercise or something like that and unlike him, I am love, love, loving it. Feels so good to be out in the clean fresh air!

Guess what? I still like rolling, too. Instead of the white stuff, I am loving the brown stuff they call grass. Usually my foster sis rolls right here with me so we laugh our doggie laugh and give a silly groan because it feels so good. Foster Mama says it's because I am happy!

And being scared of noises... What noise? Let me at 'em! Actually, I am pretty chill with noises now.

Lastly, I am finding toys are okay to have. I gave Mama's old glove a good chew and I am keeping it at my side.

So, if you have a glove I can chew on and a nice big fenced yard where I can run to my heart's content, I am the doggie for you.

I have lotsa love for my future family.

Wuv you,

Carlie

Look who isn’t afraid of no sub zero weather!! And that other picture is going in my foster picture frame!

Carlie just loves to make snow angels. She might be trying to walk with three paws in this cold weather, but every few feet she has to take a roll in the snow! One day I saw her do three. Roll once, step. Roll again , step...

Carlie 18-175

I hope someone else doesn’t mind the cold temps and wants to share the fun with Miss Carlie!

Reflecting on how Carlie is doing, I realized how far she has come. While noises and unexpected things that come about make her jump, Carlie takes it in stride. While she still gets startled, she calms down right away .

She still is a big cuddle bug,  preferring to lay on the couch next with whoever wants to share her seat.

She unfortunately doesn't know what play time is, much to the dismay of her foster sister, but will give her furever home all the unconditional love she has.

So yes, Carlie has come a long way and is ready to find her own home where she can perch upon a couch watching the world go by around her.

Another picture confirming how dogs know when their owner is down and out!

Carlie continues to amaze us with her affectionate side. This picture melts my heart. Initially she was afraid of the crutches but giving her foster dad some TLC overrode her apprehension.

In addition, she LOVES the snow and rolls in it with sheer abandonment!

She has a lot of love to give someone who will give her the life she so deserves.

Hello to my Humans!

It’s me Carlie! I must tell you of the latest. First, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I did.

I went to my foster grandma’s in Minnesota. It was so fun and it smelled wonderful. I especially liked taste testing. Having never tasted ham or turkey before, I found yet more parts of heaven in my new life.

Oh, and my foster parents had a visitor. Their daughter came for a visit and really spoiled me. She even slept with me out on the couch. She told foster mom how much of a cuddler I am and was simply in love with me.

Finally, I found out how wonderful sleeping in my foster's bed was. See, I was really unhappy being out in the living room by myself so my foster sister dog talked me into coming back to where she sleeps. With mom's help, I followed her right up on to the bed and that's was where I slept. All night.

I am sure loving this thing called a Golden life. I think I have died and gone to heaven.

Well, I know my future fur family is out there. I am very patient and just lovin' the life.

Yours furever,
Carlie

Hey Human!

It’s ME CARLIE!

I figure it’s about time I get into this update thing so I can fill in things my foster mom missed. I really think she needs a little help.

Well I have one word. FABULOUS!

I am really liking this walk when I want to, eating other delicious treats along side my dog food, and staying warm next to anyone who wants to sit on the couch. No worries, if you are at the other end of the couch, I will just sidle up to you and keep you warm. Aren’t I nice?

And just today I found a sock to carry that my foster sister dog found. It’s so soft and smells like my humans.

Noises are still troublesome but Foster Mom says I am way better then I was.

Finally, my foster mom wanted me to tell my RAGOM buddies that I am an absolute sweetheart (really ?!) and that I will make someone such a wonderful cuddle buddy (well I do like to cuddle).

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving day. I know I am thankful because I just get to hang out and be adorable -- and live the Golden life! Thank you RAGOM! I woof you very much!

Wow! What a change in Carlie now that she can no longer have puppies.

She is eating like crazy now and not so finicky. We are still working at eating from something other then my hand. Baby steps.

And, much happier! This picture is what greets me in the morning. This is something that makes even the anti-morning person smile! (ME)

So if you want a cuddle bug like Carlie, she is it! She crawls right over to who ever is sitting on the couch and snuggles in. She is such a sweetheart!

Greetings to my future fur-ever home. I know you are out there.

Today I can safely say I will never have to deal with late night feedings and crying puppies! I also had a nasty infection to boot so it can only get better from here!

I don’t think I would have enjoyed my very first car ride if I knew where I was going (the doctor), but it was way cool! At first I was nervous, but I unwound quickly and was enjoying the view with my foster mom and sister Hazel.

Carlie 18-175

Speaking of my foster family, I sure do like the lovin'. When my foster mom comes into the room my tail can’t help but wag so hard my butt moves! (A far cry from those first few days when only the tip of my tail greeted her.)

So, until next week... Once  I am feeling better, I will have much more entertaining experiences to share on my Golden life. And man do I love this life. Thank you RAGOM for finding me!

Carlie girl is slowly coming along. First, I can’t get over how sweet this girl is! While she doesn’t yet know how to play, she is beginning to show all the other qualities Golden lovers are looking for.

She has learned rolling in the grass feels a-mazing! If I could only get a picture of her face as she rolls... the sheer joy is so heartwarming. And, as this picture shows, Carlie found out how soft the couch is in relation to the dog bed.

She has become a couch potato and loves cuddling with you. It also gives her a great vantage point to keep an eye on me as I go about my chores.

Carlie 18-175

Her outside fears are becoming less and less. She loves going for walks and walks side by side with my Golden.

The only thing yet to be accomplished is for Carlie to decide her dog food is really, honestly good for her. Side note: she shakes her head if she doesn’t like how something tastes!

Finally, next Monday she will be going in for her spay surgery. No more puppies for this sweetheart.

Wednesday, October 17, 2018

Please allow me to introduce to all Golden lovers, 7-year-old Carlie 18-175. This gentle sweetheart is a retired breeder girl who is eager to begin the Golden Life.

In the short time we have had her, she is already showing the wonderful attributes of a Golden.

Despite the lack of human contact, Carlie is receptive to attention regardless of who it is. As one of the pictures portrays, Carlie loves a good head massage or even a "comb out."

In addition, with that lack of exposure to the outside world, Carlie is somewhat fearful of things she has never experienced, such as loud noises. Nevertheless, she is becoming very accustomed to day-to-day sounds.

Carlie very much wants to be a Velcro dog. As foster parents, we are always within her sight. If I move, she moves. If it is somewhere where she is afraid to go, I can hear her pace back and forth because I know she wants to be near me.

This girl is definitely going to make someone a very good companion. I can’t say enough about her disposition for she is as sweet as can be and gives as much love as is received. With each day another petal of this flower I call Carlie opens to show  another facet of her personality.
