Well, my forever family finally came and brought me home. Don't get me wrong; I really enjoyed hanging out with Koda, Heath, and Foster Dad, but I am happy to be with my humans who will be spending much more time with me.

I understand I will be living a bit more rurally, though Foster Dad made a huge point about keeping me leashed up and not letting me chase the critters. It's okay, though, because as much as I like to chase critters, I love being with my humans.

A little over a week ago, I was a resident of Turkey. I endured a long flight, then a long car ride with the person who turned out to be my Foster Dad. Now I’m living in Rosemount, MN.

This first week has been fur-tastic. I have two brothers who love to play, yet give me my space when I need it. We had a great weekend and spent lots of time playing and walking.

I love going for walks and get excited when I see the Foster Dad prepping to take us out! Foster Dad says I walk really well most of the time, though I get a little crazy when I see a squirrel or a bunny, but who doesn’t?!

Koda and Heath love to wrestle, especially when we're on our walks. At first, I ignored them and just tried to stay out of their way. I still let them have their wrestling match, but now I will, admittedly in a limited way, engage with Koda or Heath when they ask me to wrestle.

On Monday, we went to the vet and got checked out. Foster Dad was a bit worried about a wound I had from another dog biting me prior to me coming here. The vet gave me a clean bill of health, although he did give me antibiotics for the wound. Granted I’m not thrilled with them, but Foster Dad puts a bit of Cheese Whiz on them, and they go down just fine. Foster Dad says my wound is healing up nicely.

After the vet visit, Foster Dad put me in the kennel and went to work. He had kind of a longish day, but he was very happy to see no messes in the kennel. On Tuesday, he put me back in the kennel, but came home for lunch and didn’t put me back in the kennel when he went back to work.

On Wednesday, Foster Dad let me have free roam all day and again was quite happy I had no accidents. Thursday was the same, although somebody did pick out a tissue from the bedroom garbage can; I think he suspects me, but he can’t prove it.

On Wednesday night, there was one minor scuffle between Heath and me. Foster Dad allowed one of our favorite toys to come in the house. I had it and Heath wanted it, so we stood up and threw a few punches at each other and a bit of yelling, but Foster Dad used his loud voice and we both sat down. Neither of us got the toy.

I guess the plus side was they (Koda and Heath) know I won’t let them bully me. We were all back to playing within minutes, so all is well.

Foster Dad says somewhere out there, a very lucky family is waiting for me to join them - someone who will give me lots and lots of petting and attention. I wouldn’t mind having a brother or sister, but would be quite content being an only dog.

While he says I’m pretty laid-back, Foster Dad is not sure how I would react to cats or young children. While I do like to stay close to Foster Dad, he thinks a fence would be a good idea, but may not be required. So, anyway, my future family, I hope to hear from you soon!
