Duke was adopted today by a loving family with two younger children. He has a large fenced yard and his very own lake to swim in. He will spend his summers swimming, fishing and boating on the lake, watching bonfires with his family, taking long walks, and cheering on the kids at their sporting events.
In the winter he will go snowshoeing and cross-country skiing with his family on the lake. The kids are hoping that he will take turns sleeping in each of their beds at night. Duke is already very much loved by his new family.

Duke is here! He is a big boy at 95 pounds. He's a tall, dark red Golden Retriever. His personality is all Golden!
Duke was surrendered from a loving family because they could not afford his ACL surgery. He is about 10 pounds overweight. He has a tough time starting stairs because of his ACL injury and his weight. The vet said that his difficulty with stairs is consistent with his injury as the angle the leg is at while taking the stairs.
Duke has been with us about a week and it feels like he's lived here for months. He is very well behaved. He has free range of the house when we go to work. He doesn't get into trouble. We have a camera in the living room so we can watch what he does while we are gone. He usually moves between sleeping on the dog bed and sitting at the sliding glass window to watch the squirrels.
He has a sweet temperament. He likes all humans including children. He is good with dogs both male and female—and cats, too. He likes to carry toys around in his mouth but does not chew them up. He enjoys walks on the leash.
Duke is an overall great dog and easy to love!
