Stevie has been adopted!
He is ready to start his Golden life with a fantastic family and even a fur sister. With more love and training he is going to be a great dog!

Stevie had a great Thanksgiving! He loved all of the people and kids at the family gathering. He adapted well to new surroundings and seemed to love being in the middle of it all.
He even met a cat! He respectfully kept his distance and read the cat's body language and backed away when he got too close. Stevie will need ongoing training about cats if he is going to live with cats in his new home.
Stevie LOVES dogs and plays with my brother's adult male Golden Retriever until both dogs are really tired. He is confident and jumps right in with "rough" dog play.
He is getting much better about not biting people with those sharp puppy teeth—still a work in progress on this. Stevie will also need ongoing training on jumping on people and on walking nicely on a leash—I think he is going to excel at obedience training!
He sleeps in his kennel in my bedroom at night and has learned that "Night, night Stevie!" means he should go in his kennel for bedtime. He is in the kennel from about 11:00pm to about 6:30am. He still barks when he is kenneled during the day.
He has not had potty accidents in the house or in his kennel and goes to the door and paws the glass or barks to be let out.
He is doing well learning what he can and can’t play with in the house (still needs constant supervision and reminders, of course). He rides in the car extremely well in a car kennel—maybe a few whimpers at first, but he has made 3.5-hour trips and you would not even know there is a dog in the car. He is a smart, adaptable, loving Velcro boy!
Stevie is now neutered, so he is ready to find his lucky forever family.

Stevie is a 3-month-old, light golden, male, purebred Golden Retriever puppy. He is very well socialized, has had no potty accidents in the house (goes to the door or barks to be let out), and is learning how to be a GReat dog very quickly.
He loves to play with toys, go on walks, chew on toys, fetches well, comes to his name (usually), knows "sit," is working on "stay," rides well in the car, and is quickly learning appropriate house manners.
Stevie loves all people and dogs that he has met so far. He has not met any cats yet. Stevie loves to learn new things and approaches new things (walks, snow, tall grass, other dogs at the vet, etc.) with excitement, confidence, and curiosity.
He has a perfect bill of health from his vet checkup and is waiting for neuter surgery before he can be adopted.
Stevie is working on crate training and is very vocal about not liking being left in the crate. This is getting better, but at this time, I feel he needs a home where barking in the crate will not be a problem for neighbors.
Stevie has loved all kids he has come in contact with; however, he is still very rough in his play. His puppy behavior is very energetic and enthusiastic and includes jumping on new people and using his very sharp teeth to investigate them. So he will need a home with children aged 8 or older and a family that is very knowledgeable about training kids and puppies together!
He will thrive in a home where he will have the opportunity for obedience training, be a part of family activities, possible doggie daycare, and can live either with or without another dog. A physical fence is preferred.
