Profile

Sadi is a gentle senior who came into RAGOM after losing both her human parents. She is a low-activity gal, as she is overweight, but is becoming increasingly mobile as she drops the pounds. Sadi has fatty tumors that constitute a good portion of her excess weight; some were removed in January and she has recovered well. This sweet girl wags her tail vigorously upon meeting you and just wants to be near her humans. Sadi is protective of her sister Lily 18-266, who is blind, and they must be adopted together.

Sadi is a sweet, adorable, senior gal looking for that special forever home. This very special 12-year-old Golden embodies the kind, gentle, and loving Golden spirit. Despite her difficult year, having lost both parents and coping with her medical issues, this sweetheart will greet you with a powerful wagging tail and nudge her way into a good ear scratch.

Sadi has settled well in her foster dad’s home. Sadi is very overweight, but at least 1/3 of her weight is in the fatty tumors that are all over her body. This extra weight made getting up and down difficult and regular movement strenuous. She had surgery a few weeks ago to remove some of the tumors, which has already improved her mobility—she’s getting up and down and around much better.

She initially came in at 98 pounds but has slimmed down to 90 pounds and it’s expected that she will continue to drop weight now that she is more mobile. Her sutures have healed well and she is on her way to better health. She wears a thunder shirt to help keep the voids from filling in and gets the bonus of extra warmth on these cold days.

Being conscientious of her feeding helps (eliminate opportunity to eat the other dogs' food, which is what likely contributed to Sadi’s weight issue) and will make a difference in managing her weight and improving her overall health.

Sadi loves people and shows her appreciation with a wagging tail, nudges, and sometimes high-pitched squeals of happiness when being loved on. She loves being next to you and part of the scene and is such a sweet girl, her disposition completely unaffected by her health challenges—typical happy Golden personality.

Naturally her activity level is low, basically going in and out to do her business. She is spayed and microchipped, and is nondestructive, has no separation anxiety, and displays no resource guarding.

As Sadi’s mobility continues to improve, walks will be incorporated. She has free roam of the house and sleeps on floor or dog bed. She will bark to get your attention, likely because of her limited mobility.

Sadi is bonded to her sister Lily 18-266, who is diabetic and blind. Acting as her helper dog, Sadi looks out for her sister. Lily’s cataract surgery will help Lily to be able to venture out and depend less on her sister Sadi.

It is wonderful to see these girls blossom as their overall health improves. These two will steal your heart, as they have already done for the many dog lovers who have followed their journey. These very special girls will inspire you and give you lots of love. These two will need to remain together.
