Profile

Hi, Abby is a loving 9 month old, quiet, gentle red female. She is about 56 pounds and very gentle. Abby was given up because her family was being forced to move into housing that would not work for Abby.

Abby is very sweet and loves people and other dogs! (Not sure about cats; she's never met one.) She does follow me around everywhere, but does not demand a lot of attention. She does like to snuggle in the evening though.

Abby has shown fear of loud noises and unexpected movements and would do best in a home with no children or only children over 10 years old. She needs the older children to be gentle, and willing to help build her confidence. She would not do good in a home with a bunch of rambunctious teenagers....but a quiet, calm ,loving home would be perfect. I have a 5 year old active boy, who loves to run and play super hero, and he appears to stress her out. All of his unexpected movements and noises scare her.

Abby is afraid of loud voices and will need owners that are willing to work with her on positive training. She would love it if you showed her how everything works without any loud stuff! She wants to please, so she is pretty easy to convince with a few treats! ok... She LOVES treats!

Abby loves to retrieve and play with toys...She does not chew up stuffed toys and likes to chew on beef bones....

She will sit nicely for her dinner, and knows the command "wait"...when she is given the Ok, she will eat. She knows the command sit, and down. She obeys these commands from all of us in the household, including my 5 year old.

She loves to roll over and have her belly scratched...she does not mind grooming and is fine with having her nails trimmed. Her ears have been a source of infection in the past and she will need to have her ears cleaned weekly to make sure they stay healthy.

If you feel she is a good fit for your family, give RAGOM a holler...she just came out of season so she can meet new families, but she will need to stay in foster care until she is spayed on May 27th.....
