We are honored to welcome Boomer to the RAGOM family.  Boomer is an 8 year old (born 5/3/05) male purebred Golden Retriever.  Boomer was a loved member of a family since he was a puppy.  Sadly, due to health reasons, Boomer’s family had to move to a place where they couldn’t take Boomer.  Tearfully they asked RAGOM to help Boomer find a new home.

We have nothing but good things to say about Boomer.  He is friendly to humans, rides nice in the car, does his business outside, is calm and relaxed in the house, walks fabulously with a flat collar and leash, has excellent recall, is fine when we leave him gated in our main level laundry/mud room for a work day, and knows how to do the Golden nudge.  It was reported that Boomer can be shy when meeting new dogs.  Our resident Golden, Josie (age 5), is the same way so we are taking introductions slow and making sure they each have their own “safe space” while in the house.  They have been fine while out on walks together.  It was also reported that loud noises such as thunder or fireworks do not bother Boomer.

Boomer came to us up-to-date on his vaccinations and is in excellent shape for a gentleman his age.  He is a tall boy and his current weight of 82# is about right for his frame.  He is on no medications or supplements but does require occasional ear cleanings to keep his ears infection free.  He hops right into our SUV and has no problems keeping up on long walks with resident Josie.  Boomer has his wellness exam with a RAGOM vet on Friday.

Due to his size and energy (he has the energy of a much younger dog) it is probably best that Boomer’s forever home is one without small children.
