Profile

We are excited to share Brownie!  A very young 8 year-old, 79 pounds, deep red coat and super sweet personality has arrived.  Thank you to another foster family that stepped up and got Brownie out of boarding until we could take him.  Brownie has a couple of things to take care of and then he will be ready for his new family.  He will get neutered on Halloween, more like a trick than a treat!  We are also treating him for an ear infection for the next 2 weeks.  Other than that he is in perfect health and looks more like a 4 year-old than an 8 year-old!  There is not one grey hair on this beautiful guy.  Brownie came to RAGOM only because of a limited housing situation where he was not able to stay.  He clearly has been loved and will be a GReat family dog.  He and our resident dog, Sid, are doing fine.  Sid is not so thrilled that Brownie likes to sniff him a lot and if Sid scoots away Brownie chases him.  Hopefully that will change a little after his procedure  on Thursday.  Sid always takes a long time to warm up to our new house guests, but Brownie doesn't seemed bothered in the least.

Brownie loves to show us his High 5 trick.  He knows some sign language according to his previous owner, but we have only learned the sign for 'sit' so far which he responds to perfectly.  He takes treats gently.  He loves his food so I give it to him in small amounts as he almost seems to inhale it.  He is totally at ease around all the kids that come and go in our house.  He is excited everytime we get in the car.  He likes to stick his head out the window for a minute, then he just lies down and relaxes on the seat.  He has free roam in our house and does just fine.  He has not attempted to get on any furniture even though his foster brother makes himself comfortable anywhere and everywhere.  We went on a walk and I used a harness which seemed necessary for now.  He could learn to pull a little less, but overall did really well.  He loves any attention, but also just takes time to relax near the humans.  He has settled in beautifully in his short time so far.

He is a looker!!  His face just melts everyone's heart.  Ahhh...all of this greatness we have discovered in just one day.  Stay tuned!
