Toby has made his way up to Minnesota! He was rescued from a shelter in Georgia. Not much is known about his life before coming into RAGOM's care.
The first few days at our home, it was nonstop excitement for him. Toby met my resident dogs Ollie and Mollie with no problem and loves playing with them. For the most part he will ignore the cats as he's too busy playing with the dogs. When he does take interest, he will start following them but is easily redirected when I call his name.
Toby is a growing pup. At his vet check he weighed in at 37 lbs. He has very expressive ears. They go forward, back, up and down. You might notice that his most distinctive mark, is his white socks in the front. He has a lot to learn, this young pup. I don't think he has ridden in many vehicles before. He is a little leery of my car, so I have to pick him up and carry him to it. But with time, riding in a car will be normal to him. He knows sit, but with so much excitement he doesn't sit for very long and eventually starts jumping. Right now we are slowly working with him, so he doesn't jump up on us. But with each jump he does, you can see on his face how happy he is loving his life. Toby is not 100% potty trained. He knows outside is where he needs to go potty. When all the dogs start playing and wrestling, then they start drinking water, and wrestle again, that's when an accident has happened. When they are being that active, I try to let him out every 30-45 minutes. Toby loves the toys. The first night he emptied the entire toy box. Not even my own dogs have ever done.
At night or when at work, Toby is put in the kennel. The first few nights, he would whine for a good 20 minutes. When it's time to eat, I feed him in his kennel, so it becomes more of a good thing to be in there. I think it's helping because the whining is becoming less and he's going in the kennel before I put the food in it.
Toby is young and full of life. If you are interested in this cute boy, contact your placement adviser.
