5/24/2003: Quincy came into our home (and hearts) on Saturday, and we fell in love with this little guy immediately. You see, Quincy is a large bodied dog with little legs. He is a Golden/Corgi mix and there might even be something else in him too. We don't have much information on Quincy, he came from a shelter in northern Minnesota. The shelter told us that his owner was a woman who call recently and told them that she had some dogs that the shelter needed to get or else she would have to shoot them because she had to sell her home and move into an apartment.
Quincy came to our house filthy, full of ticks and terribly matted hair that can't be brushed out. I have pulled off over thirty ticks so far, hopefully I have most of them. He has so many scabs, that I'm constantly checking him because you don't know if it's another tick or just a scab from an previous tick. It's going to take some work but when he gets cleaned up he's going to be a beauty. He has a sweet disposition and he is such a happy guy, his tail is always wagging. When he gets excited he makes the cutest, funniest whining and/or grunting noise, just like he's talking to you in some mysterious dog talk.
Quincy has to make several visits to the Vet: one for a checkup and heartworm test and then another for a neuter, then he'll be ready for his forever home.
