Sweet Ginger arrived last night to a home with three resident RAGOM ladies.  Ginger fit right in and made herself right at home.  Ginger was rescued from a shelter, where she had been since early December and was due to be euthanized if a RAGOM angel had not saved her.  She has a torn ACL that will be repaired as soon as she goes to the Cities.  A bit on the pudgy side but a very happy lady.  She loves to ride in the car and carries a ball around with her.  We are not playing fetch because of the ACL but are sure that she would be thrilled to play.  She did fetch twice last night...she is definitely a "retriever".

Last night she asked to sleep with us and settled down nicely. She would have slept on the floor if we had not invited her to sleep with us.  She is starved for affection since her stay in the shelter.  She is playing tug with Trixie and gets along with the "Ladies" very well.  She has been around small children and does very well with them.  No information about cats.  Housebroken and tells you that she need to go out by nosing the door knob.  She has a tendancy to pull on the leash but responds well to a gentle pull.  I think that she would do well with some attention to training.  Comes when called and will lie down when told to.  She will play anytime with other dogs or people. 

Ginger is going to make someone a wonderful pet.  She is very happy and wants to please.  Even with the ACL pain, she is willing to play.  More news when we get to know her better.
