I would like to introduce General Jackson, but just Jackson will do! He is a loving, playful, sweet Golden Retriever who acts nothing like his age. He is a very young 9, turning 10 at the end of May. Jackson came to RAGOM because his family wasn't able to provide any time for him, but it is clear they gave him lots of attention and love. In his home he participated in field training for 3 years, so he has the extra bit of training that is so great for Goldens. Jackson came to us yesterday and has loved up everyone in the house, especially the kids, ages 8, 11 and 13.
Our resident dog gave him a hard time, but he didn't seem bothered by it all. His owners also said he is good with cats. Today he had a playdate with the neighbor dog in our yard and resident dog Sid joined in for a bit as well. His energy is great, much better than our 5 year-old!
I will update later after a visit to the vet next week although his recent records show his health is pretty good. He does have a history of seizures, but manages that with medication two times a day. With that, he hasn't had any issues. He is also up to date on all vaccinations.
Even though we haven't spent much time with him yet, I can already tell what a wonderful addition he will make to a special family, nothing but love.
