Please welcome Jedediah to RAGOM! Jedediah is a very active 9 year-old, 100 pound, pure-bred, male golden retriever. He was surrendered to RAGOM with his fur brother, Keegan (14-030). The two are very close and need to be adopted together. Who wouldn't want two 100 pound lap dogs?
Jedediah is the leader of the two. He is a very confident dog. In his past life he was an outdoor dog - kept in a kennel or in a wood-heated garage when it was really cold. Jedediah is now living the golden life inside a house. We have the brothers contained to just a couple rooms for now, but Jedediah appears to be fully house trained. He will sit for food and treats. We also have him sit to get petted because he can be a little too exuberant at times. :-) Because of his exuberance, I'd recommend kids over age 5, but that can depend on how dog-savvy the kids are. He has come a long way towards learning manners in just a few days.
When you see that Jedediah is 9 years old you are probably thinking "senior citizen", right? If you are, you're wrong. A 2-mile, hour long walk, is only part of the exercise we've been giving the boys this week. Jedediah is only a few pounds overweight and is very muscular. Besides lots of walks, he loves to wrestle with his brother, Keegan. Since he was used to being outside, he loves, loves, loves to explore the yard.
Jedediah is up to date on his shots and, other than a slightly infected ear, he is quite healthy. He is scheduled to be neutered on February 27th and will be available for adoption after that.
