Piper 12-346 [1]

Please welcome Piper 12-346 to RAGOM. Piper is an eight year old Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab mix. Piper was lovingly surrendered by her one owner family who wanted her to have more people time. The owner’s daughter developed asthma and Piper had spent much of the last year away from the family. Now, due to divorce and extra jobs for the father, they decided it was in Piper’s best interest to find a family who could give her the time she so deserves.

She is a healthy, 65 pound spayed female. Her coat is golden/yellow blend with slight feathering on her chest and hind quarters. She us up to date with all her shots and is on heartworm and flea preventative. Here’s what we’ve learned about her:

• She lived with two large cats and got along with them.
• She is gentle and affectionate-while we don’t have small kids, I will not be hesitant to introduce her to children of any age.
• She is friendly with our resident golden and was gracious when she met small dogs on our walks and at the vet.
• She sits when told, but that seems to be her only command.
• She seems to be crate trained- she is crated right now while we are gone and will go in it for naps on her own.
• She likes Kleenex and I’m sure her nose would find things on the counter to be irresistible so we are keeping a close eye on her with these things.
• Her first few nights, she needed to be on the foot of the bed at night, but lately she is comfortable sleeping on a pillow in the bedroom.
