Greetings from Grand Forks, ND
I'd like to introduce you to Ruby, she is a PB Golden Retriever and is 10 years old... she is a total gem, a diamond in the ruff so to speak. Ruby has had a number of homes before coming into the Ragom family. She lived in Florida, Texas and Minnesota. She was surrendered due to loving children but not loving small dogs or cats. Ruby is a bit overweight and looks like a bit of a sausage, shorter and chubby or thick as I like to call her. Ruby gets along fine with our two resident goldens, she is housetrained and absolutely loves to be around people.. if we could bottle the energy that comes off her her wagging tail we would have a new source of electricity in our home.
Ruby had a large hump/lump on her shoulder and came to us with hookworms. She went to see Doc last Monday and Doc said that she had to take a better look at the lump on Ruby's shoulder and it appeared to be growing. Ruby spent Tuesday at the best clinic in Grand Forks, North Dakota and hung out with the staff, resident dogs and customers. All of the techs were all taken in with Ruby's charm... but then they did exploratory surgery and removed a three pound tumor off of Ruby's back... I do have pictures of it but am not planning on posting them. She also had a cyst removed from her cheek. The results from the lab haven't come back yet so we are unsure if everything is okay. Ruby came home with staples from one shoulder to the other and stitches in her cheek. She was tired and didn't feel well. That was on Wednesday. Thursday morning came and Ruby got up and started with the tail wagging immediately. She ate her breakfast, had her medication, and greeted all the family members and goldens... she is such a sweet honey, it's impossible to not fall head over heels in love with her. She is a quiet gal, except for snoring. She doesn't bark.
Ruby is a silly girl too. She does not get on the furniture...unless we aren't home...then she can be found sleeping in the middle of our bed. When we try to help her up on the bed she will play dead dog and go limp. Since she weighs 80 pounds, it's a workout. Once we do get her on the bed she lays in one spot and sleeps like an angel.
If Ruby would fit into your life style and you would love a companion, this would be the perfect girl for you. As far as I can see she doesn't even have any bad habits.. she is just a loving girl. One of the attached photos is Ruby in her hockey t-shirt that covers her staples. The other is just Ruby being her sweet self wanting me to go to bed.
