Ruby has been adopted by her foster family, we just couldn’t let her live anyplace else, she is so sweet and quirky, we love her. She lives with her furbutt friend Rusty (who happens to be another foster failure of ours) and mom, dad and teen age brother Conner. Thank you for bringing this golden into our lives.

Hello everybody,
I'm guessing you are missing my updates... I just want to tell you how much fun I've been having... I went for a long ride on Friday and ended up at a lake... I don't like water, well except to drink but I was getting into this thing called a pontoon and I was bottom heavy and fell into the lake between the pontoon and the dock.. yikes.. my FD had to pull me out and then he looked at me and said "Ruby, I think you need to go on a diet"... can you believe he said that to me? I think I have a svelte figure, kind of the hour glass shape. My FM was worried I was concussed... but she decided I was okay... I loved the pontoon... I even let FM vacuum the pontoon and I stayed on it... I usually don't like things like the vacuum, it's too noisy...
Then this past week was the Fourth of July, lots of fireworks, they didn't bother me not one bit because my furr butt sister Annie didn't care about them. My FD even lit some off; we stayed inside with my FM. We also had a visitor, Norman, he's also a foster, his FM went on vacation so we are taking care of him. He didn't mind the fireworks but I'm getting a little tired of all the attention FM is giving him... it's always Norman try to eat this and Norman try to eat that... he's not feeling well so he didn't have an appetite... hey, I have an appetite... I can eat... he got liverwurst, pork loin, turkey, chicken... you name it he got it... spoiled guy... but he goes home tomorrow so then I can bask in all the attention once again.
I've been keeping track of a rabbit that's been hiding under our deck. He is going to be so surprised when I pounce on him he won't know what is going on but he teases me every day. He runs around the yard then when I get close to him he runs under the fence, well, one of these days I will have the last laugh.
I've attached a few pictures of me, one is of me sitting in the yard at the lake, one I'm resting under a tree at the lake and the last one.. well, my foster mom took this picture when we got home from the lake... I was exhausted from all that fresh air... I'm laying on my zebra blanket...
Enjoy till I write again!

Good afternoon everyone... Rubster here.. It's been awhile so I thought I should get up and hop on the computer.. I can't wait for all of this snow and yuck to dry up outside, I want to go for walks and play in the back yard I love to play ball but in case you were wondering I will not give you the ball after you throw it for me.. Because it MINE!! that's why.
FM ordered me a Sock Monkey.. on Saturday I opened up the box and there it was.. Guess what? it had a squeeker in it.. well only for about 5 minutes or so.. I got rid of that thing and then all the stuffing came out, oh, and it's missing an arm now... oh, and a tail.. hmm they sure don't make them like they used to...
My foster family has been very busy lately... Foster mom has way too many meetings to attend and my Foster brother has been at baseball practice every night for months, well, maybe it just feels like months... I'm wondering what that is all about because I haven't been to any games and I'm sure I will get to go.. well, if my FM isn't working concessions. She said I can't go wiff if she is working concessions but hey, foster dad will be there, I don't know why I can't just hitch a ride with him.. FD and I watch alot of sports on tv, it sure wears me out...
If you want to know some things about me here you go:
- I love everyone
- I sleep on my FM's Pillow when I'm in bed.. I share the pillow with her sometimes.
- I wag my tail all of the time
- I'm happy
- I don't bark much.. only at Mr. Mailman (Terry)
- I'm a good eater, not picky at all. I'm kind of old so I don't need a lot of activity
- I'm a good listener (you can tell me all of your problems and I will let my itch me and everything will be all right for you).
I've attached a couple of pics of me.. I'm the lighter golden, the cute one.. the other one is Annie.
Here's one of me sleeping, I'm such an angel :)

Greetings everyone,
Ruby here, just wanted to give you an update... boy have I had a busy time,
I'll start in the middle... I had my stitches removed from my cheek and the staples removed from my back, my hair is growing back fast and you can hardly tell I had surgery. Now for the bad news, when I was in having my staples and stitches removed those darned nurses always insist that I step on the scale... what a mistake, I gained 3 pounds. As if that wasn't bad enough they all laughed at me.. Yes, laughed.. boy they think they are all so funny.. They told me they were laughing because I'm one of them and we all gain a few pounds here and there .. so of course my foster mom has to get involved and decided to put me on a diet. ugh... so now I'm only eating 2 cups of kibble a day... well, I do get a few snacks but not many. Last week FM took me to see Doc because Molly my foster sister had to have shots and a checkup,I stepped on that darned scale and guess what? I'm down 6 pounds, read it and weep... now all of those silly nurses are ooohing and aaahing saying oh Ruby, you look so thin, Ruby you are really shaping up and all that jazz, I just wish they would take me to a drive thru for a big mac or a dairy queen, but no, my FM tries to give me apple slices to snack on and I don't like them, the other girls eat my share I want meat or chips or something tasty and good.
Okay enough on my ranting, since I've lost 6 pounds, I can take 2 stairs at a time when I'm following FM up the basement steps and I can hardly wait for the snow to dry up so we can start walking. FM says it's too dirty and muddy outside for me to go for walks, so I will gladly wait, in the meantime I will just keep my spot warm on the bed (I sleep there all day when my Foster Family is at work and school) and they are fine with that. So I guess I don't have it too bad considering the diet and everything...
Well that's all I can think of to write about today... There are a couple new pictures of me.. .one with my foster sister Ann on the couch, I'm the cutie using Ann's butt for a pillow.. and the other one is of me and Ann and Molly waiting for a snack... I'm sure it was an apple or something healthy like that... ugh...
I will write again soon... boy, it's my nap time and my paws are getting tired from typing...
Later!

Good Afternoon,
Ruby Here...
Sorry I haven't written for awhile but I've been so busy. I spent two whole days at Doc's, I was a little bit worried they were going to keep me there. After they figured out that I can't be kenneled... I just don't like those things and Kelly the vet tech got her morning exercise trying to get me in the cage but then she realized I was such a gentle girl there was really no need for me to be confined, so they let me walk around the clinic, greet patients and lay around just like I was part of the family, I was so well behaved. Anywho, that was two whole days and the reason I was there was that I had a three pound tumor removed from my shoulder and a small cyst removed from my cheek. I've recuperated, had my stitches out and my staples out... I was the best and all of the Vet Techs call me all kinds of names. They call me Princess, Beautiful, Pretty Girl and then Doc calls me Old Lady, not sure why cause that name doesn't sound so great! Oh, the Tumor and cyst were not cancerous but there was a bit of bad news... I gained 2 pounds, a woman doesn't usually tell her weight or her age but I'm going to tell you, I weigh 85 pounds, my foster mom put me on a diet... ugh... I can't believe she is being so stingy with the food... really I'm just an elderly gal who likes to eat and sleep oh and get itchies... oops I got to go here comes my foster mom.
Greetings, I see Ruby took the reigns of starting this update but I'll fill in the blanks of things she missed. Ruby had a three pound tumor on her shoulder removed and a small water cyst removed from her cheek, neither were cancerous, however, she is a sausage in size... gained 2 pounds so yes, she is on a diet. You could say she is a member of the clean plate club and wants the other girls to be members as well. Ruby will gobble up her food head over to Molly's dish and lick that out just in case Molly left a morsel of kibble for her, then she will head over to Annie's dish and watch Annie eat. (Annie is a small eater and usually leaves some kibble for Ruby)... So then Ruby will help Annie out and clean up her plate.. yikes.
Ruby continues to be a charm, she finally barked, I actually had to look at her and watch her as I was saying, "was that really Ruby barking?"... she doesn't bark a lot or often but if the doorbell rings and the other girls start up she will join in.
I can hardly wait for the snow to melt and the ground to dry up to go out and play some ball with Ruby. She has a definite interest in playing fetch but she doesn't seem to want to release the ball. We've been practicing indoors, yesterday we were playing fetch and Ruby would get the ball, and bring it over and just wag her tail.. her foster brother was trying to get the ball away from her but she wasn't going to give it up so Conner (Foster Bro) had her face in his hands and was rubbing noses with her...He would quit and she would start initiating the nose rubbing, it was so funny to watch.. They continued to play that game for about thirty minutes.
