I would like to introduce everyone to our beautiful foster boy, Scout! He is 5 years old and we have been getting to know him for about 5 days now. There are so many positive things to say about him that I don’t know where to start. He weighs 57 lbs, but has VERY long legs and a skinny head with a long nose. He was surrendered to a humane society, but I can tell he came from a loving home.
Scout loves to go for walks and does well with a harness. I bet he would be a great running partner with his long legs. He just turned 5, which means he has mellowed out, but has plenty of energy to be with an active family. He knows sit, shake, and lay down. Plus, he does not jump up on you when you come home. However, you will be greeted with the biggest smile you have ever seen a dog give. He raises his top lips so high he sneezes. That’s also accompanied by lots of wiggling of his long body and he will lean into you for a hug if you kneel down by him. He simply puts a smile on your face as big as his.
We went to visit foster grandma over the weekend and tried introducing him to her cat. Well, needless to say he hid behind grandma until the cat left the room. He did do a thorough search of the room after that. So, I would say he wouldn’t be the happiest living with cats, but your cat would be safe. He has done great with my resident dog. He has tried to play with her, but she has sort of ignored him. I think he would like living with another dog or having canine friends to visit.
I’ll give you more updates as I get to know Scout and I don’t have a lot of restrictions on the type of home he should go to yet. Please, let your placement advisor know if you would like to meet this smiling, wiggly boy!
