Skippy 10-018 [1]

Meet our new boy, Skippy.  He came all the way from South Dakota to Minnesota and is he ever adorable!  He is housetrained and quite good in the house.   He does get on the furniture and bed, but could be trained to not do so if preferred.  I like to cuddle, so if a foster dog already does get on furniture, I don’t usually discourage it.   My three female Golden Retrievers have all told him how they would like him to behave and he listens well, he doesn’t argue back.  He likes to play with toys, chew bones, socks seem to be a favorite.  Outside in the snow he jumps through the snow, it’s quite fun to watch. 

He will be going to the vet on Wednesday a.m. for his neuter surgery and after that will be ready to look for a forever home.  I am not exactly sure yet what will be his ideal home.   He will need someone interested in positive motivational obedience group training and lots of socialization, exercise and love.   I don’t have cats, so don’t know what he would think, but he likely would chase them, but not with intent to hurt, and a quick swipe with a paw would probably put him back a step or two.  He enjoys chasing with my Shiba Inu (small dog) and he’s gentle with her and she eggs him on.  Will write more as we get to know him better.
