3/25/06: Brandee has made it to Apple Valley after a VERY long journey - a huge THANK YOU to the rescue group who blessed us with her this morning. Brandee is from Mississippi and was found on her own under a garbage heap so we felt she needed her very own Guardian Angel. I am lucky enough to welcome Brandee to Apple Valley and to be the Guardian Angels mom. We lost Brandee the angel about 2 years ago so I know she will watch over our little Mississippi baby very carefully.

Now for the funny part ? After waiting patiently to get our hands on this girl ? we find out she is a HE....how many times has this happened to me?? I know a bunch of the foster parents out there will be rolling with laughter, because it happens to me all the time. So, Brandee is now BRANDO! Oh well, let's talk about Brando for a few minutes.

Brando arrived at 8:00 am on Saturday the 25th of March, all the way from Mississippi. He is a rescue because of the after effects of the hurricanes that took place last year. A high percentage of the dogs are not spayed and neutered in MS and as a result many strays are wandering around and subsequently a puppy boom is on. Brando went to the vet immediately upon arrival to MN because we were so worried about him. When the rescue group got him on Wednesday he was infested with fleas. The rescue group got him Frontlined, etc., so we hopefully won?t have to deal with too much of that here. However, we have done lots of precautionary measures for our Newfs and for us two legged people. Poor Brando is so flea bitten that he has many open sores and lots of wounds. The vet feels Brando is about 13 weeks old, so we are making his birth date December 24, 2005. He weighed in at 25 pounds so once he is healthy he should be a big boy.

As you can imagine we don?t know a whole lot about him because we just got him into our hands, so watch his update, and yes I am sure it will be updated on a daily basis for a few days at least.
