From Jared's forever family...
We were told he spent most of his time in a kennel with his two brothers who were also rescued by Ragom. Now he enjoys his new home with three cats and another dog. He takes daily walks and sleeps on every piece of furniture.
Although he is a mix breed (Gordon setter - Golden Retriever) he has the heart of a golden. He is an avid bird watcher and enjoys chasing tennis balls, even if it means digging for it in snow.

Sorry for anyone watching Jared -- he had a transfer of foster homes and I like to let them adjust before updating. The vet went well, Jared is now neutered. He did test positive for Lyme and Anaplasma disease. Both are tick related and cured with antibiotics for 30 days.
Jared is still weighing in at 57 lbs and is about 2-1/2 years old. Is a Gordon Setter / Golden Retriever mix, I know it is hard to tell from the pictures but he has tons of gold on his underside and in his face.
Jared's training is going well, we are working on the basics, walking on a leash (back and forth for car rides), Gentle Leader (walks around the neighborhood) and a harness (roller blading ). All are going well, still could use some improvement. The basic commands we are working on is long: stay, feet down, lay, sit with a release word of ok, leave it (animals and other dogs while walking) and come. Jared is a puppy, he chases anything that moves (birds, balls, leaves, our other dogs, dragon flies, ECT...) but is great with our cat!!! He smells him a lot but stays away for the most part. No bark is a big one we are working on, Jared is quiet during the day but barks at any noise or movement outside at night.
We are currently roller blading or jogging every morning and walking every evening and hitting the dog park during non-busy hours for some social interaction. I do have two other residence dogs, which he plays with all the time. I think that Jared will have to be with another dog to be happy. We are crating for short times right now but he is left out for the day when I work. He will pile anything left out. He is doing great but yesterday he chewed up a leather wallet. I’m not even sure where he got it, it was an old one.
As you can tell Jared has tons and tons of energy! He would love someone to take him who is just as active as he is. He is a cuddle bug too, will curl right up with you to watch TV and sleep.
The new pictures here are a little different as Jared is camera shy: You can see the gold in his face, how curly his hair really is and how much he likes to play, and how high he can jump.
