03/09/2017:

I’d like to introduce you to the one and only Abby, a healthy, happy, 7-week-old (DOB: 1/18/2017) Golden mix puppy. Her mom is a smaller Golden mix—around 50 lbs, and her dad is the best the neighborhood had to offer. (The surrendering owner said there are lots of Labs running around!) She came to RAGOM from rural North Dakota with her 3 siblings. She has her vet and spay appointments in a few days, and then she’ll be ready for her forever family!

She is the first one to come running when I call, and she never lets me get too far out of sight. I think she’ll be a wonderful buddy and loyal companion some day. She loves to be close and to get belly rubs. She has a really nice play style for such a young dog, and I hope she will find a home where she can get lots of opportunity to hang out and play with other dogs. She is already showing the classic Retriever trait of finding a good stick to carry around and chew on.

I’ll let you know more about Abby as I get to know her!

Abby had a busy week. She had her first vet visit and is up to date with vaccinations, and she is being treated for roundworm. She also had her spay surgery and is healing beautifully from that. She is so healthy and strong!  She's an athletic girl and is often in the lead when the pups are exploring. The good news is that she's excellent at coming back when I call--if I say it in an excited enough tone, “Heeeere, puppiiiiies!!!!”When it is time to settle down, she is affectionate and loves to snuggle, and gives the very best kisses.

Abby is easy going  and nothing seems to get her riled up. She has a really even temperament . One of her siblings went home yesterday, so now it is just the 3 girls. It has been fun watching their play style evolve and get more sophisticated. She plays really gently with the other pups, and she seems to intuitively read the signals of the big dogs.

She is all ready to go home to some very lucky family! She is an absolute doll!
