This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog. |
Aspen has been with us for about two weeks now. She's 7 months old and a golden mix. My fiance and I (and the vet) believe she is a golden/border collie mix. She is very sweet and full of puppy love.
In the past week, Aspen has been spayed and gotten up to date on shots. I would describe our first weeks with Aspen as wonderful and memorable. She will make a family very happy.
Here are a few things we've learned about Aspen since she's been with us:
- Aspen loves to play with anyone. She loves to run with our 1.5 year old golden and get attention for us.
- Aspen does fairly well with our two resident cats. She wants to sniff them and do some playing with them, but is learning not to play too rough or chase.
- We have a 6 ft wood fence that Aspen plays in, but I don't think she would need a fenced yard.
- Aspen is kennel trained and sleeps in there every night and stays in the kennel when we're at work. We've let her stay out of the kennel on a few occasions when we knew we'd be home soon and she did great. Nothing was chewed or out of place.
- She loves toys! Her favorite are toys with squeekers, but she's not picky.
- Aspen occasionally barks when people pass by or enter the area. We're working on it and she seems to be doing better and catching on quickly
We took Aspen out to my family's lake place this weekend and she does great socializing with new animals and is very affectionate. My family fell in love with her instantly. If you're looking for a young pup who will give you tons of love and be a great companion, she's the one for you. My fiance believes she could be trained to be a great hunter, too!
