Hi Everyone!

My name is Carlie!  I am a 7 year old Golden Retriever mix with a beautiful face and a love for rocking chairs.  I've been in my foster home for a couple weeks now and I'm really settling in nicely.  I live with two older Golden Retrievers who I get along with great, and one naughty kitty, who I mostly ignore but sometimes I like to follow around the house.

I'm currently a little bigger than I would like to be.....by about 40 pounds.....but I am on a strict diet now so I'm hoping to get back my girlish figure very quickly.  In addition to being a bit overweight, I also have diabetes and foster dad has explained that a proper diet is essential in dealing with the disease.  My health is still being assessed but, in addition to the new diet, I also get two shots of insulin a day.  Getting a shot of insulin doesn't sound like much fun, but it really is no big deal to me or my foster daddy.  Just part of the routine.

Well, my first couple weeks in my foster home have been great!  My foster family has already taken me to the park several times for walks and we've visited grandma a couple of times, too.  I love going places because that means I get to ride in the car, which I love.  I get to sit in the passenger seat next to foster daddy and look out the window while the older dogs have to sit in the back seat.  And when I am at home I like to play with the stuffed toys and balls, look out the window and just relax.  I also like to go out and explore in the back yard and bark at the deer.  It's not such a bad life for Miss Carlie!

I am happy to report that Carlie has found her forever home.  Mine!!

After all Carlie and I have been through since she came into my life, how could I possibly let her leave me?  That is something I had been struggling with for many months.  So, I finally decided to make it official and adopt her myself.  Carlie has made great strides since coming into my life two and a half years ago.  She seems healthy and happy and I hope to keep her that way as long as possible!  She is an amazing girl!

Thank you to everyone who was interested in this wonderful girl and read her updates, as infrequent as they were.  I can't thank RAGOM enough for all they have done for Carlie!!

Hey, it's Carlie here once again.  Guess what....it is so much easier to type on the computer being able to see than it was just a couple months ago when I couldn't see my paw in front of me.  Still, it is hard to get much computer time with Foster Daddy always hogging the thing.  So I take advantage of every brief opportunity I get.  Like now.  I am still here with my foster family.  I thought by now I might be living with a family who had taken an interest in me but I guess it was decided that it wasn't going to work out.  They are a great family, and I had fun knocking things over in their house, but living here with Katie and Moss isn't too bad either so I guess I can't complain.  The family did help get my vision restored and Foster Daddy and I will never forget them for that!

Things have been going pretty well since my surgery, which was two months ago already!  I still get a bunch of eye drops every day but that's a small price to pay to be able to see again.  Trust me.  I recently got a new harness to wear on car rides and on walks, so that was pretty exciting.  And I found a new chair to climb onto at Grandma's.  It's a wobbly little rocker that used to be at Foster Daddy's grandma's house.  There's definitely a trick to sitting in it but I like it because then I can see out the window.  And with the balmy weather we're having now I hope that means more time outside enjoying it.  More trips to the park.  And more car rides, too!!

Well, gotta go for now.  Thanks for checking up on me!

Just a quick update to let everyone know that Carlie is loving her "new eyes"!!  Surgery went very well and she is recovering nicely.  The first night was a little rough though.  Carlie refused to open her eyes and she didn't take kindly to having to wear some sort of lampshade on her head either.  But by the next morning her eyes were wide open and she was taking in all the sights that she missed out on the last couple of months.  I can tell how much Carlie enjoys being able to see again......and it isn't any more evident than when she is riding in the car.  She looks around so much I'm surprised she doesn't get a sore neck.  But it is wonderful to see her enjoying life so much!

A very special thank you to RAGOM, Jon & Martha, Dr. O, and all of Carlie's admirers and supporters who helped her through this process!!

Merry Christmas to all of Carlie’s supporter and admirers!!  Carlie can’t wait for Santa to arrive this year (and neither can I).  Carlie has been a very good girl this year and she really deserves a visit from Santa.  Unfortunately, the last couple of months have been rather eventful for sweet Carlie.  She suffered through a bout of pancreatitis in October and as a result she didn’t eat for five days.  Thankfully, she recovered from that awful week, quickly regained her spunk and we were able to resume our trips to the park, which is what she lives for.  Actually, I’m not sure what she enjoys more…..exploring in the park or the car ride to get there.  Either way, she’s a happy girl.

Also, in just a little more than a month Carlie has lost her vision due to cataracts.  Cataracts are an unfortunate, but very common, complication of diabetes in dogs.  Carlie is rapidly adjusting to life without sight and she is doing amazing, especially considering how quickly it happened.  But Carlie shouldn’t have to be in the dark for very long because she is scheduled to have surgery to remove the cataracts on January 11!!  Carlie received an early Christmas present when RAGOM very generously authorized the surgery for Carlie and, in addition, a wonderful family who has fallen in love with her is chipping in to help cover some of the costs for the procedure.  Carlie and I cannot thank you enough!!

Even through the difficult times Carlie has maintained her warm spirit and love for people!  She has been with me for almost two years now and I fall more in love with her every day!  She is such a sweet girl.  I feel bad for what she has had to go through but she has been such a trooper and I couldn’t be more proud of her!
Okay, Carlie wants to say a few words now…….

Hello,

Mitten Mitten, who left me a mitten?  Whoever you are, thank you!  Zera and Athena were very special.  It will help me find my bone that I burrried in the backyard.  Oops, that was a secret.  I hope Katie and Moss don't read this.

Thank you to the Goldzilla Friend Anonymous person!  And many thanks to the people remembering Charles & Ann Bailey.  I sure am grateful for all donations cuz Foster daddy says I need surgery on my eyes.  My diabetes surprised me with a side effect-----I can't see.  So foster daddy is trying this for me. Turns out I have cataracts and need surgery.  I am going under the knife next year.  Darn, we finally get a dusting of snow and I can't even see it...so the mitten will come in handy dusting off the path to my bone.

The best ever newz is that someone wants to adopt me, but with my vision problem, we need to be sure that the surgery workz first.  Please cross your paws for me so I will get to see again.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year!  See you next year, I hope.....

Carlie & Foster Daddy

Foster Daddy, it’s time to do my update, remember?  Oh well, guess I'll have to do it myself.
What can I say?  I AM STILL HERE.  Does this thing work?  It’s me, Carlie.  Foster Daddy hasn't heard from anyone that is interested in me.  I can't imagine why.  I'm the total package.  I am house trained, good on walks, car rides, like other dogs.  I like fun parties and wear stupid hats.  I know stuff like sit, lie down, off and I have excellent recall.  And I hope you have noticed that I have lost 48 lbs.  That’s like losing a medium size dog that was attached to my back for goodness sakes.

Other than the insulin stick that I need twice a day, I'm very low maintenance.  I don't get tangles in my hair cuz I have a natural buzz cut.  I'm a good protector when I hear funny noises in the house. I am 9 years old.....way past the crazy puppy shenanigans.  I love people, kids of all ages, boat rides, other dogs, car rides and even cats.  And I especially love chairs and couches.  If you have any, or preferably all, of that stuff, give me a chance.

I'd love to stay here forever ya know.  Foster Daddy and Kate and Moss are the best.  But I should move on and make another family happy so Foster Daddy can rescue and re-home another furbutt.  That's what RAGOM is all about.  Rescue, Re-home and Repeat.  Maybe my message is getting out.  If you can hear me, please contact your RAGOM placement advisor.  I'm anxious to hear from you!!!

Thanks, Carlie

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!  It’s Carlie here and I’m proud to report that I am now 9 years old.  It may seem like 9 is getting kind of old but in my foster home I am still just a pup.  Katie turns 12 in five days and Moss is even older than that.  Heck, I’m even younger than the kitty cat.   I still act like a young pup, too.  I have lots of energy, spunk and a bit of an attitude.  And of course, I am still adorable.
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer!  I sure did.  But it went by way too fast.  I sure wish winter would go by as fast as summer seems to.  I enjoyed all the warm and sunny days this year, especially when it meant I got to go swimming!

Well, it always seems that I talk about my weight when I write my updates…..so I better continue the trend so I don’t let anybody down.  At my last visit with the doctor my weight was 70 pounds.  Woo hoo!  My only health issue is my diabetes, which is not such a big deal.  All it means is that I get poked twice a day when I get my insulin…..but it is so routine that I hardly even notice it.
Thanks for checking up on me!  I’ll try to write my updates more frequently in the future….it’s just been so hard to wrestle the computer away from foster daddy.

Hey Everybody, I think I've been forgotten about.  Either that or the humidity got to our computer.  Anyway, my paws are on here now cuz it’s the coolest, driest place in the house.  Speaking of cool, have you taken a recent peek at my chest?  Normally a young lady wouldn't ask such a personal question, but hey-- we're close friends cuz you've been reading my story.  I was admiring my new slim and trim 72 pound self in the mirror yesterday and I noticed a bull in a tutu on my chest.  Do you see that?  Or is it an upside down moose with a long neck?  Maybe a sting ray?  Well, the bull may explain my little stubborn streak.  Word around here is that I'm a bit fussy when I meet other dogs.  But it takes just a minute for that familiar sniff sniff greeting and I'm good with them.

The routine around here is the same.  I get up, go outside, eat my breakfast and take my insulin.  We play a lot and supervise foster daddy around the house and we take occasional naps.  I make sure the chairs are where they're supposed to be and the chair/couch monster hasn't messed with them.  Then I play with Kate, Moss and Toby and we think of stuff to do.  Sometimes it takes me a long time to re-arrange our balls and stuffies.  Everyday I manage the comings and goings of the native wildlife from our window.  I'm still trying to understand why the squirrels run back and forth across the high wires.  And the bunnies, oh don't get me started on those crazy critters.  They're out to get me and they stare at us.  I try to talk to them, but they don't listen.  All this activity keeps us furbutts very busy all day.  And then finally, after all that, I get my insulin and then we eat.  Then we go outside to play a little, supervise foster daddy, watch TV and finally settle down on the couch or on one of my favorite chairs.

Before I go, I want to thank my sponsors.  I cross my paws for Charles & Ann Bailey everyday.  I wish they were here so I could give them Carlie kisses.  Foster daddy wants to talk now.  Catch ya later.

Hello, Carlie has stolen my heart.  She is one special lady.  I can't believe she has been our guest for over a year and a half.  I can honestly say if I were able to, I would adopt her in a heartbeat.  She is the perfect family dog.  Carlie LOVES children, people, car rides, activity and almost everything else.  She is a great co-pilot and walker.  No worries about security.  Any intruder would high tail it out of here when he hears her bark.   Because of her fascination with the typical neighborhood wildlife, she needs a physical fence.  She does fine with my dogs and cats so she can be a big/little sister or the only dog in her adoptive home.  And most important, Carlie needs the comfort of chairs, couches and the bed.  Also, her insulin is quite manageable with an approximate cost of $65/month.

Hey, it’s Carlie here!  Cute, white-footed, chair-loving, adorable little Carlie.  Things are still going great.  I went to the doctor this week for my annual checkup and I got a clean bill of health!  My weight, which  some may remember was once a major issue for me, is holding steady in the low 70’s…about perfect!  I still live with two amazing senior Goldens who I love and get along with great, and a cat, who I think looks funny, but who I also get along with very well.  My dream date?  It would have to include a car ride….as well as a trip to the park so I could explore, get fresh air and exercise, and maybe even go for a swim.  An alternative “dream date” would be an evening snoozing on the couch next to Foster Daddy.  I really enjoy quiet evenings with the family.  I’ve included some recent photos of me to remind everyone just how cute I am.  Thanks for checking in!

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

This is Carlie once again.  I am still doing great.  A little tired of winter, but I’m doing very well.

Here are a few quick facts about me:

·  I love to go for walks!  Love it  Love it  Love it

·  I love chairs!  I’ll climb onto chairs of all shapes and sizes for relaxation or for a better view out the window.

·  I get along well with kitty cats.

·  I absolutely love car rides.  I am the perfect passenger….I sit nicely and just look out the window.

·  I pull a little on a leash but not too much…..unless I see another dog.  That’s when I like show off just how strong I really am.

·  I am great at bedtime.  I am very quiet.  I usually prefer to sleep on a sofa by myself but occasionally I will join the rest of the family on the bed.

·  I am good with kids.

·  I love people and happily give kisses.

·  I have short, easy-to-manage hair.

·  I would make an awesome guard dog.  I’m very protective of my family and home.

·  I am a very sweet girl.  A bit of a character but very sweet with a bit of an independent side.

·  I would like a forever home with a fenced yard.  It’s not absolutely necessary but, since I like to explore, it   would make my life more enjoyable.

·  I would also like a home where I’m allowed on furniture…..being the chair climber that I am and all.

It's Carlie here for a quick update to let everyone know that I am still alive and doing well.  A trip to the vet a couple weeks ago revealed that I am now at my ideal weight.  Finally!  After a year of dieting and exercise, I have lost approximately 45 pounds and I feel great!  I can run and jump like a dog again.  I've included some recent pictures of myself to show off just how good I look!!  Thanks for checking on me.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Carlie and I would like to send a big THANK YOU to Carlie’s very generous sponsor!!  I am so happy that someone took the time to acknowledge this very special girl.  We would also like to say thank you to the individual who gave a Christmas icon of Holly to Carlie.  You guys are awesome!

Carlie had a very nice Christmas.  In fact, she was so excited about Christmas this year that she started to open a present for Grandma, which was sitting under the tree, a few days before Christmas.  But in her defense, there was no name on the package so she just assumed it was for her.  Luckily, I stopped her before she had it completely unwrapped….and I’m sure she would have just been disappointed that it wasn’t some tasty treat or stuffed toy anyway.  But Carlie, Katie and Moss did receive a lot of presents this year from Grandma, Santa and me!  And Carlie didn’t waste any time removing the squeaker from all the stuffed animals they got.  That was her mission for the night.  And she accomplished it in record time.

The first week of January marks the one year anniversary of Carlie being a part of the RAGOM family!  A year ago she came to us extremely overweight (118 lbs) and having been recently diagnosed as diabetic.  Today she is a slim 75 pounder who requires less than half the insulin she needed a year ago.  She has come a long way in a year and I could not be happier for her.  She is a sweetheart who has a wonderfully unique personality and a big heart.  Thanks again to Carlie’s sponsor and Christmas icon giver!!

Merry Christmas to the Golden Seniors and their fosters! Merry Christmas to the Senior Goldens and their fosters from Anonymous

Sunday, December 19, 2010

Happy Holidays!  It is Carlie Bear here.  I decided to write my update this time while foster daddy watches football and naps on the couch.  I think I should be the one napping!  Anyway, I can’t believe Santa will be here in less than a week.  I’m so excited to see all the presents my step-brother, step-sister and I will get.  We’ve all been really good this year but I bet even the naughty kitty will get some presents from Santa.

Life is pretty great for Miss Carlie!  And I’m not just saying that because Christmas is coming.  I am genuinely grateful to be a part of the RAGOM family.  It is because of them that I am leading such a healthy and happy life now and I still get to enjoy the things I really love.  Like riding in the car, napping on one of my many favorite chairs, “wrestling” with foster daddy, exploring in the backyard, going for walks, watching for outside activity, getting my sides and belly scratched, eating yummy treats and playing with stuffed animals.

Foster Daddy tells me that I am a very special girl.  But he also says I can be a bit mischievous at times, too.  Nothing too serious, but I do like to have my fun.  I also like to get my way.  For instance, if someone is sitting in “my” spot on the couch, I will sit in front of that person/dog/cat and make this low throaty rumble sound until they move.  For anyone who doesn’t know me, they would probably think I was growling at them.  But I am not.  It is actually just the cute and unique sound I make when I want something.  And it sometimes works…..at least on foster daddy.  Not so much on the dogs and cats though…..they just seem to ignore me.

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful, happy and healthy holiday season!

Carlie has the Holiday spirit!

Anxiously waiting for Santa

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Hello Everyone!!  It’s Carlie once again…..and I’m here to finally give an update after a lengthy delay that was not my fault.  We can blame Foster Daddy for dragging his feet and not getting my update done, which is why I’ve decided to take over the update duties today while he is away at work.

First, how about a health update?  I honestly don’t remember when I have felt this good.  It has been years since I have been this skinny.  I am now down to a willowy, and much more comfortable, 81 pounds!!  Remember, I was a hefty 118 pounds in January.  Foster Daddy keeps telling me how proud of me he is.  And I am really happy too because now I can run around with the resident Goldens and not get tired out.

There is another important benefit from being much slimmer, which is that the amount of insulin I need daily has been cut to less than half of what I required in January!  Foster Daddy still has to poke me with the needle twice a day, so I don’t really notice a difference in that way, but the cost to properly treat my diabetes has been reduced significantly.  And that is definitely a good thing.

As for my personal life, I’m still living the American doggy dream.  I have the best step-brother and step-sister in the world.  I have a kitty to play with who also likes to snuggle.  I get to sit in the front seat on car trips….and I just love that!  Other things that I love to do, which have probably already been mentioned, include napping, meeting and growling at dogs I don’t know, taking leisurely walks through the park, exploring anything that I think needs to be explored…..indoors and out, feverishly removing the squeaker from stuffed toys, visiting Foster Daddy’s family and friends, fetching sticks thrown into a lake, lying quietly in the warm sunshine and so many other things that I can’t think of right now.  But that is ok because I need to finish this up since Foster Daddy will be home from work soon and I still want to get in another nap before he arrives.  Thanks for reading about me!

Greetings Everyone!  This is Carlie and I am here to report that I’ve had a busy and wonderful summer!  I am so thankful to RAGOM for giving me a second chance.  See, several months ago I was really overweight, diagnosed with diabetes and about to lose the family I had been with for many years.  Today, as I type my own RAGOM update, I am 33 pounds lighter, have much more energy, feel 100% better and require less insulin than I did when I became a RAGOM foster baby in January.  Life is a great thing and I am surely enjoying mine!  I love my foster family!  I love car rides.  I love napping.  I love looking out the window.  I love going for walks.  I love people.  And did I mention that I love car rides?  Here are some recent photos of me.  Thanks for reading about me.

Happy July 4th!  Carlie is celebrating America’s birthday in her own way….by snoozing on the nice cool floor downstairs.  She had a busy holiday weekend.  Trips to the park, swimming (actually, in Carlie’s case wading in the shallow water would be more accurate), meeting another Golden named Max at the beach, car rides and a trip to Grandma’s house highlighted her weekend.  And mine.

Carlie is an adorable girl who has been a wonderful addition to my family since she arrived in January.  She arrived exactly two months after my dog Abbie unexpectedly passed away and she has helped get me through a very difficult time.  Carlie has obviously had a big impact on me and I know she will have the same kind of impact on the lucky family that adopts her.  I replaced my broken camera so I finally have some new pictures of Carlie to post!

Moss, Carlie and Katie

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Hi!  It’s Carlie here to tell everyone that I am still doing great!  It has been years since I have been this slim and it is just a wonderful feeling to be able to run and jump and move around like a dog again.  I’m not sure what the exact number is but foster dad told me that I have lost something like 30 pounds since becoming a RAGOM girl.  Now that the warmer weather is here we’ve been going out on more walks, which I really enjoy and which will help keep me fit and trim.  Katie and Moss, the two resident Goldens, love to swim in the lakes.  I’m not sure about that whole swimming thing yet but I do like to walk in the water and get my feet wet.  I still might get the hang of the whole swimming thing though.  I think I just need some more time to get comfortable with it.  I mean, before I became a RAGOM girl, my walks were few and far between so those alone are a big treat for me.

Despite having diabetes, I am a pretty low maintenance kind of girl.  Basically, the only noticeable difference between me and the resident Goldens is that I get a shot of insulin with each meal and they don’t.  Honestly, the shot is barely noticeable by me and it’s no big deal to my foster daddy either.  It is just something “extra” I get with my meal that the other dogs don’t get.  It’s just a little something that makes me even more special than I otherwise would be……and I’m pretty special anyway!

Basically, I am a sweet girl.  I am very friendly to adults and children alike.  I will often surprise people I’ve never met before with an unexpected kiss or two.  I don’t need constant attention and I’m often perfectly content just looking out the window or lying by myself in quiet room.  I have very short hair that is easy to wash and brush.  I have gorgeous eyes and an adorable face.  Unfortunately, foster dad’s camera just died so he doesn’t have many new pictures of me to post but new ones will be coming shortly.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me!

The Serious Side of Carlie

Carlie's Playful Side

Monday, May 3, 2010

Here’s a quick update on Carlie. She is down to 93 pounds now!  That is a 25 pound drop from her high earlier this year.  She looks great and I’m sure she feels so much better now, too.  Carlie has been an awesome foster baby.  Her adorable face, unique personality and sweet nature make her a joy to have around.  She gets along great with my dogs and cat, and she loves going to the park, looking out the window for other dogs, napping on the couch, riding in the car, eating healthy treats and meeting other dogs.  And she has adapted to her healthy new lifestyle exceptionally well!

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Hi Everyone!  It's Carlie here.  A slimmed-down version of my former self!  Thanks to my wonderful new diet, and some much needed exercise with my foster family, I now weigh about 97 pounds.  That might still seem like a lot but considering I weighed 118 pounds just three months ago, it is a tremendous improvement!  I feel so much better now.  I breathe better.  I sleep better (and quieter, according to foster daddy).  I can actually move around again like I could when I was younger and I don’t get tired on walks anymore.  I still have a lot of weight to lose to get down to my “ideal” weight but I am definitely on my way.

Now that my weight is being successfully managed, my foster daddy said it is time to start thinking about what I am looking for in a new Forever Home. First of all, I need a family who is willing and able to treat my doggy diabetes, which requires two very simple and easy-to-administer shots of insulin a day.  Dealing with diabetes can be a scary proposition but it really doesn’t have to be.  I am just like the two resident Goldens here….except that I get a shot of insulin with every meal.  It is also important that I find a family who understands the importance of maintaining my weight and keeping me on a strict diet.  Therefore, an active family would be a definite plus too.  Exercise will help me stay healthy and maintain my weight.  And let’s face it, being outside and running around is much more fun than being cooped up in the house.

Here are some more facts about Carlie Bear, as foster daddy calls me.

1)     I am a pretty low key girl but I’ll occasionally get excited when I see another doggy out for a walk.

2)     I am good with kids and kitty cats.  I am good with other dogs, too…..although it might take me a minute or two to warm up to them.

3)     I love to sit in the front passenger seat next to foster daddy when we go for car rides.  Foster daddy says that I am one of the best passengers he’s ever seen!

4)     I love stuffed toys.  But I will make sure that they aren’t stuffed for very long.  I will happily pull the stuffing right out of them the first chance I get.

5)     It was recently discovered that I love to chase sticks and balls in the lake water.  I am not comfortable enough yet with the lake to go in over my head but foster daddy seems to think that it is only a matter of time before I will be out in the deeper water swimming with Katie and Moss.

6)     I love chairs!  I’ll climb onto any chair within reach.  It doesn’t even matter what kind of chair it is.

7)     Other than an occasional loud bark when I see a dog walking down the street, I am very well behaved.  I am proud to say that I have not gotten into any mischief since I’ve been here…..unlike a few foster dogs who lived here before me, according to foster daddy.

8)     I love to give kisses.  And receive them!

Here is a quick update on Carlie.  She is doing great!  Carlie continues to lose weight and her blood sugar has come down considerably….even since the last time it was checked, which was a significant improvement from the time before that!  And I am happy to report that Carlie is now the proud owner of her own glucose meter, which means fewer trips to the doctor for blood tests.  She is very happy about that!

Carlie continues to be a wonderful guest and companion.  She is cute, smart, independent, playful and she also doubles as a security alarm.  She is not at all aggressive but she does like to warn me if she thinks someone is getting a little too close to the house.  It has been fun getting to know this adorable girl and great to see her personality come out more and more as her health has continued to improve.

Carlie has decided to hand over her RAGOM update duties to me this time so that she can focus her energy on napping after a busy weekend of car rides, trips to grandma’s and walks in the park.  Carlie has made great strides since she first arrived here in mid January with a few (dozen) extra pounds on her.  Thanks to a new diet and a more active lifestyle, Carlie has lost about 15 lbs from her peak in early January.  She still has a long way to go to get down to her ideal weight but she is off to a great start.  Carlie’s blood sugar has also come down significantly since early January.  This is great news as we continue to assess her diabetes and determine the best course of action to take to treat it.

Carlie has been a welcome addition to the family!  And she is quite the character!  I don’t think she has met a chair she does not like.  She will eagerly climb into any available chair, regardless of size and height, and sit just as nice as can be.  She is somewhat playful, preferring balls and stuffed animals, but she also likes her quiet time as well.    She’s a bit more independent than the two resident Goldens, sometimes seeking a quiet spot to relax alone, while my two Goldens are rarely ever out of my sight (or me out of theirs).  Carlie sleeps great at night.  She is allowed to sleep wherever she wants....usually choosing the crowded bed or the couch where there is a little more privacy.  Her recent weight loss has helped her in many ways too.  She breathes much more easily now, she is able to move around a lot better and her general energy level is much improved.  It is great to see the improvement she has made since she has been here.  She is a very sweet dog and definitely she deserves a happy and healthy life!
